Wow great details! I love how you point out K's desire for her man to take in charge. She has definitely blossomed as a woman since the last event. K's subtle message is so intriguing here since we end up discussing ASR majority of the time. The man is too late because of the hasty tricky decisions, but won't spare NK any chance tomorrow.
Interesting take on his love for Anjali. He just doesn't want her to be affected by their traumatic past the way he has been. Her sustenance is his responsibility, without any expectation in return. But his equation with K is different. The deprived man expects both a lover's love and motherly affection from her. In some way all men seek their mother in their respective partner to some extent, but here the need is at a much higher level. On Diwali night probably he did not realize the magnitude of damage he did to her. He so expected her to accept him the way he was just like a mother would. Then we have mai aissa he hun from him and postmarriage K would rebel as accusing him of his mai mai attitude. He mistakes the liberty in this new found love rather than treating it as a privilege. Inspite of his hasty decision to marry La, he innocently continued to expect the same desired relationship from K until he finally realized. All part of a journey of healing.
