Superstar Salman Khan has always been actively involved in social causes and after opening a clothing, watch and accessories brand store, for his Being Human charity organisation, the actor now has other plans in mind.
After working as an actor and entertaining the world for these many years, the Dabangg is now set to start his own production house under his charitable organisation's banner. According to a few sources close to the actor, Salman is said to be producing five films under his banner, Being Human. A source confirms, "Salman has given breaks to a lot of people, including Katrina Kaif and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Even his brothers Sohail and Arbaaz are now involved in filmmaking. His NGO has grown with leaps and bounds and bhai realised it was time to take it forward."
Salman's close friends reveal that he is already in talks with many industry filmmakers for the projects. One of the movies that is first said to be made under the banner include the remake of Jackie Shroff starrer Hero. The remake will be featuring Sooraj Pancholi (Aditya Pancholi's son) and Athiya Shetty (Sunil Shetty's daughter). Two of the other ventures to be made under the banner include Mahesh Manjrekar's Shikshanachhya Aaicha Gho and Dr Cabbie with Vinay Virmani.
Even though the actor has had an experience of working on screen than off screen, he can any day take tips from his two younger brothers, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, who already have their individual production outfits. The profit earned from the production house will be given to his charitable trust Being Human.
In the meantime, Salman is currently shooting for his next, titled Mental. The title of the film was reported to be changed to Azaad, but any official confirmation of the same is yet to be released. Directed by Salman's brother, Sohail Khan, the movie also stars Tabu, Sana Khan and Santosh Shukla in the lead roles. The film is set to hit the theatres in January next year.
