A very Happy birthday to one of my favourites....kia album hai yaar Tareef us Khuda ki 😭 😃 ...i love it,i love it, i love it!

Ab Toh mere Khuda - Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh😳

ab toh mere khuda mujhe jalwa dikhaaiye
apne namaaziyon ka kaha maan jaaiye

kuch keh rahi hain aap se seene ki dhadakanen
mera nahi to dil ka kaha maan jaaiye
apne namaaziyon ka kaha maan jaaiye

main jaanta hoon tu bada rahamat-navaaz hai
sab ke dilon pe raham ka jaadu jagaaiye
apne namaaziyon ka kaha maan jaaiye

muddat se tishnagi hai tumhaare jamaal ki
noor-e-kamaal se zara parda uthaaiye
apne namaaziyon ka kaha maan jaaiye

'Someone Somewhere' was the album that Jagjit and Chitra had released after the sad demise of their son in an accident... What I had read is that this was the last album Chitra sung for paying a tribute to her son, and then the pain was so much that she quit singing... I also had read that their relationships soared after the incident, but am not too sure if they are already divorced...

Yes you are right Jaya. Their relationship soured. Infact the pain had even turned Chitra to drink excessively. They were on the verge of divorce then. But finally that never happened. The two are still couples.

Happy Birthday Jagjit Singh ji 😊...Honestly its his song which introduced me to the world of gazal...My one of the most favourite is "Besabab baat badhaane ki zaroorat kya hai ? " ...... Specially the lines " dil se mil ne ki tamanna hi nahee jab dil mein ., haat se haat mila ne ki zarurat kya he !!....and also Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho - this is one of the most popular one of his ghazals. Superbly sung and composed, watching the video makes it even more amazing!!
