It's vacation time for Gattu

By Mehul S Thakkar, Mumbai Mirror | Sep 2, 2013, Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor, a modern take on the Dickens classic Great Expectations has finally found a producer and the director is celebrating with a romantic sojourn in Greece.

Gattu and girlfriend Pragya Yadav are on a15 day long trip to Greece as the filmmaker wants to spend some time with his lady love before kickstarting his ambitious project.

Talking about the trip, a source said, "Gattu cuts himself off from everything when he is writing the script. So before the madness begins, he wants to spend some time with Pragya."

The vacation is a wellearned break for the filmmaker as Fitoor starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Katrina Kaif, had run into rough weather after producer Ekta Kapoor backed out of the project. After running from pillar to post UTV Motion Pictures finally came to Gattu's rescue.11.09 AM IST

ahh I am so excited for this Period movie starring Katrina and Sushant. I think they will make an interesting pairing.

this is going to be katrina's first period movie, so happy she is working with Abhishek Kapoor, rock on was good but kai po che was simply fantastic without a doubt the best movie of 2013 so far.

So its confirmed. Any idea when it goes on floors? Sushant simply said 'next year'.

Will this be a period film? I thought Its supposed to be a modern day adaptation of the Great Expectations.

It goes on floors in October 2014. I think right after Bang Bang is released.

Several reasons for why they changed shooting date:

- Katrina was not free untill October.

- Script needs a bit more work

- location hunting

- music has to be done

basically all the pre production stuff is not done so they were not ready this year.

Everything did fall to places.

It's now Abhishek's dream project, he wanted Katrina in it and she loved the idea, Sushant he got too, UTV is producing it, so now he just needs to do his home work well.

Thank goodness for for ekt being out of this. she is a terrible producer.

After Abhishek got Katrinaa he realized that this movie needs a big budget and Ekta ji got scared and backed out cause she only wanted to produce it if it was small budget movie.

Then he got UTV and they like the best choice.

Abhishek has done good movies so far, so looking forward to this movie.
