Why D3 Failed to Achieve Greatness?

WARNING: THIS IS GOING TO BE A RATHER LONG POST- MY POSTS USUALLY ARE...
I urge you to take your time and read this one share your thoughts on the same.

D3- Dil Dosti Dance had every ingredient to become a path-breaking show. Yes it did have a unique concept and a group of sincere hard working newbies and an equally driven crew. Yet it failed to achieve the heights, every fan expected it to.
I've been a D3 viewer from the beginning and no prizes for guessing that I mostly stayed glued to the show because of Swayam and Sharon. Their undeniable chemistry portrayed by two class actors Sneha and Shantanu. Sneha marvelled as Sharon since day 1, and it was such a bliss, witnessing Shantanu blossom as Swayam, and today, in spite of not being a first timer, he can give any other actor a run for their money.
I am an ardent Sneha fan and had made up my mind to quit the show post her exit, but that would have been really unfair on Shantanu so decided to stay back. Vrushika is a very sincere actress and it will be unfair to not acknowledge her efforts in portraying Sharon, one of the most complex characters on Indian TV. She has improved a lot within a very short time and she deserves accolades for that.
So where did D3 go wrong?? My reasons.

1.Well, the show started going completely offtrack since Shakti's exit. Like every other run of the mill show on the telly, it let go off logic and rationality, completely. People started losing their memory because of a drink, and then a wedding held in a college... I can go on. That's when I stopped expecting logical reasoning from the show.

2. In 2011, apart from the leads, Rey-Kriya, Swayam-Sharon, every other member of the gang used to get proper screenspace with sensible dialogues. From 2012 onward, the rest of the gang were slowly reduced to sidekicks used for product promotion and creating chaos. ViHa were reduced to nothing more than caricature. Now when Alisha has left the show I feel sad, that talents like Vinti, Alisha were simply wasted in the background.

3. Introduction of a new character that turned the story haywire. If this was about Kriya's journey, then why not introduce a new character like Kriya. Why was a dance-based show turned into a ridiculous drama? I personally had never paid attention to Kriyaansh, but I admit I really miss them now- at least they retained the real flavour of D3. Did the CVs really think that a new character from a small town- this wide eyed India telly version of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl would click in D3 just the way it does in every other prime time opera? Well if it did then why was she made to exit so soon? Why did it take the CVs so long to accept that her character was redundant in the show?
I'm not trying to bash anyone here- stating my opinion- sorry if I offended some of you. These are strictly my reasons.

4. The way this new character was literally forced upon the viewers was completely unacceptable. There were times I wondered if the show was created to allot screentime to certain somebodies only (and still do). The actress is one with a lot of potential, agreed, and I sincerely wish her luck in her next endeavours, but her character was poorly scripted. One reason why I never identified with her was because I could never get over how we, the viewers were force-fed her sequences, when I would have personally liked to see the gang, the characters we were familiar with. I still don't know what were the CVs reasons to immediately kickstart Reyaansh's romantic track while SwaRon was being dragged like a goods train on the old Godavari bridge. Yes I'm aware of Sneha's reasons, but I'm sure something sensible and tasteful could be scripted for them. We viewers are not voyeurs.

5. D3 CVs' utter inability to rise above the stereotypes. This is the reason that saddens me the most. You had a very sincere team of newbies, no tantrums, who are also immensely talented dancers, some very good actors, why could you then, not rise above the Indian telly stereotypes, and do something different? Why did a show which started off so much promise and a smart screenplay, go the DMG way?
Why was Neha reduced to this OTT bolly drama queen?
Why is Rey made into this epitome of machismo like the Telugu/Tamil heroes?
Why did Bharat's English not improve in 2 long years?
What exactly is the status of Rini and Amar's relationship? (these people can give SwaRon a complex, when it comes to dragging)
Why is Simi, again exceptionally talented, and a sensible character made to nod to Sharon all the time?

6. Dragging a lovestory to fetch TRPs. 😡
After Sneha quit, Vrushika stepped into the shoes of Sharon and has shown immense improvement ever since. If Sneha was the reason why the CVs could not give us the SwaRon they so 'passionately' wanted to, then what is the reason behind SwaRon being dragged now? Vrushika joined in January and their confession finally happened in mid-June, after which almost for a month there were hardly any SwaRon scenes. And now again, the two have parted. I don't see any difference in the track that we had last September and now. It's utter hopelessness.

7. Killing the characters to drag a show to a bottomless pit. Sharon's character suffers from several inconsistencies. During Taani's GS track we saw her transition from Diva to Devi and now she is back in the angry Diva mode to add insult to Swayam's injuries. Earlier she was a woman of substance, now she is only a loud woman. Swayam is lost in his sad, dejected, forever tragic world. Rey's last minute damage control is not making sense. ShaRey seems super annoying and ReYam has been destroyed. Was it really needed to kill ShaReyAm like this? Is nothing sacred? With them last remaining semblance of D3 is gone.

Sure. This is my opinion and if I get 'reported' for posting my opinion then I've no issues. I have not bashed any character/actor. I've critiqued yes, and I thought that's what this forum is for. So I don't think I've breached any rule. Neither have I used any unparliamentary words.
Thanks for taking your time and reading my post. I didn't think anybody would have the patience.

Completely agree with you... earlier everybody used to get equal screen space including the leads... Swaron story is dragged, dragged and only dragged...Completely agree with you on RiMar... I love them so much...After Swaron they are my favorite couple but because no one questions the cvs regarding them so cvs have shown nothing in their story...I aften think of starting a petition request for Nimmi n rimar ...but when I think Something happens in swaron story and we are left to fight for them...if we keep on fighting for swaron how come we ask for others love story... Rey was a character with good looks, dashing, handsome but a boy with a heart of gold...he was a normal college going boy like all others... his had his good deeds and mistakes too...but now cvs have made him a superhero kind of creature which is beyond tolerance... I liked d3 in the start for everything it portrayed...how the lead ( Kriya) was a strongheaded girl who had the guts to change, to fight against wrong and make people change their thinking. There was Reyaansh who was beyond what he looked, people misunderstood him because of his popularity but he was a humble and down to earth guy, Swayam who was a shy reserved guy but had extra ordinary qualities , Sharon was not evil or devil just a complicated girl who had built a huge rock castle around her, the gang is what I love in d3 the most, mature or not I love them ...they are the fun masti maza of d3 and I miss all the actors and characters that have left d3 vinti n alisha ( Vishaka Neha)

Swaron are the reason I watch D3 ...and Cvs are forcing me to hate their superhero Rey...Beleive me I have many times thought that rey is nowhere at fault its the situation, sometimes I also blamed the cvs for their writing... But Cvs are forcing me to dislike him...but he is in d3 part of d3 gang so I will never hate him...hope to see the ordinary rey again who was best friend of sharon n swayam n gang...and hopefully Cvs will bring him a lady whether new girl or Kriya ...but I think if a girl comes in his life he will be a normal human being like before...

Special mention about rimar n nimmi Dear CVs if you read this kindly please make them a couple ASAP... And if you can please bring Neha back...I m missing Viha

and give us some good brilliant swaron...

Any points and/or reasons directed to the CVs is to be made in the following thread ONLY: CV Discussion Thread 2: Discuss Here Only. Separate topics are not allowed.

As per above rules, the topic is being closed. Any questions by anyone is to be directed to either Juleka or myself via use of PM service.
