just enjoy the show and do not try to see actual history in it. What happened in history, there may be different versions, proofs, stories and beliefs regarding it. So, all we can do is enjoy it as a historical cum fictional show, or mayb only as a love story.

Oh for heaven sake, can we stop these discussion again? When it comes to JA love story, it will fiction no doubt. Still, EK has still try stay true to a lot of events in history here as much as possible.Let's just treat it as a fiction show because the more i try to connect the dots between history and this show. I will lose my mind. :)These discussions are just getting way repetitive.

Just enjoy the story for what it is. Note they do have a disclaimer at the beginning of the show which states that they are not telling the story from a purely historical point of view, some aspects are fictional.

Competition Success Review (best selling magazine for IAS & other competitive exam aspirants) had carried a supplement in history and in their profile on Akbar they had mentioned he had 15000 wives!

Fact is there is no "fixed" number. Some sources say 4, some claim 100, some claim 300, some 5000 and some others peg it at 10000 or 15000.

Why just Akbar? There are disputed accounts of number of wives Rajput kings had, number of wives of certain deities etc.

Polygamy was a very common practice in past. And a means to expand one's clan as well as empire, by taking over new territories through marriage. It was a matter of "pride" earlier to have a large harem and women were also like property/wealth or conquest. So maybe in past they boasted about women they had.

But in modern times perception changed so they try to claim a "reduced" number of wives or give justifications about having so many wives.

How is it an insult if truth is told as it is? (Of course facts are distorted also, as politics over history and twisting of history to peddle certain propaganda is a routine phenomenon)

I feel Akbar surely had a large number of wives. It cannot be just 4!

The show is just using historical names and legends as an inspiration to show a drama and a love story. It is for entertainment only. It's not like it is being shown at schools and colleges to "educate" people.

Disclaimer is there for a reason. Focus on that and quit thinking about accuracy.

For me, even if disclaimer was not there, only Ekta Kapoor's name was enough to know not to mull much over what's shown in the serial! 😆
