Bachchans are going all out to ensure that DRONA turns out to be a better and bigger super hero flick for Abhishek Bachchan than ' Krrish' was for Hrithik Roshan. Amitabh Bachchan is especially excited after seeing the spirited performance of Abhishek in Mani Ratnam's ' Guru' and is pumping mind-boggling amount of money in Shristi Arya's project. As a source close to the project reveals, ' DRONA is their answer to ' Krrish'. The budget of ' Krrish' was around Rs 45 crore and DRONA will be somewhere around Rs 60 crore. The Bachchans along with director Goldie Behl are making all efforts to overshadow ' Krrish' superpowers.' Big B is taking a personal interest in film from mobilizing finances to taking care of the look of the film. The special effects have been dexterously executed. The content and look of the cast is being closely guarded and strict security can be seen at Kachaman Ciry in Nagpur, where the current spell is being shot. However, sources reveal that Abhishek Bachchan will sport a European look with long hair in the film. This is the secret behind keeping his long hair in hair bands for some time now. Earlier, in ' Dhoom' Bachchans were not very happy with all the credit for looks going to Hrithik and Abhishek getting a raw deal. So this time they do not want to take any chances and leaving no stone unturned to see that Abhishek becomes a better superhero than Hrithik. To this end, the first schedule of the film was shot in Prague and the director was at liberty to shoot at any place he wants. The budget was no constraint and it seemed that Bachchans were producing the film. Producer Shristi Arya and director Goldie Behl are family friends of Bachchans and so working with them as a team. For giving the stylish look to Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, the famous stylist of ' Dhoom' fame, Anaita Shroff has been hired. She has given a completely new look to both the male and female leads and hopes that it would suit both of them to a T. the film will also have the attraction of having Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek as mother and son for the first time. An aggressive marketing strategy, better than that adopted for Krrish, is also being planned. It may be recalled that in ' Dhoom 2' all praise had gone to Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya combination and Abhishek had been reduced to a mere 'also ran.' Even the film could have been made without his character of Jai Dixit. Perhaps DRONA is an answer from Bachchans for all those criticisms! |
