Chapter 24 : realization of LOVE
"Bhabi, he is Vicky. You wanted to meet him nah?" Simmi introduces her boyfriend with Taani. Taani looks Vicky from his toe to head for understanding his appearance, attitude and if this guy is suitable ever for her favorite sister-in-law or not. Vicky seems to be a rich guy with a live model of various brands which gives him a funky look. He looks good, but he fails to impress Taani by his first look.
"Hello Ji!! But I am not going to call you Bhabi at all, I keep avoiding these complex relationships with gorgeous girls like you!!" Vickey says by extending his right hand for shaking with Taani. He winks with his statement as if he has cracked a brilliant joke, he looks over confident.
"Shut Up Vicky!! Tum bhi nah, she is my bro's wife, don't flirt with her at least." Simmi shows her false anger
"Well Vicky, tum maano ya na mano if you get married with Simmi, I will be your babhi only." Taani smiles and connects her two palms to do a namaste, "Thanks for complimenting me. I know that Simmi is most beautiful girl in this world, even more than me and I am leaving her at your hand for three hours only. Please take care of her. And Simmi, please be on time, so that we can sticking to our fake reason in front of your Bhai and you don't want to make your Bhabi feel embarrassed nah?" Taani says by rolling her eyes
"You don't worry. I am taking the responsibility, no one can tell you anything" Vicky replies with smiling face. It's hard to understand if he is taking responsibility of Simmi or Taani's embarrassment
Taani waves Simmi and enters into the shopping mall where Rey was waiting for her. She already has managed him by saying that Simmi needs to go to one of her college friend's house nearer to the mall to collect some important notes and will be back maximum of within three hours. Rey starts walking towards the pre-decided shop after seeing Taani. The mall is so crowded today because of weekly holiday. Many people have just come for window shopping only, whereas some couple finds this mall as their place of romance. In front of one of the shop, suddenly one person takes a snap of Taani and Rey together when they keep arguing over the efficiency of elevator or escalator to use.
"What was that?" an irritated voice of Rey asks that photographer by realizing a sudden flash on him face
"Sir, this is our photo studio, we just open today" the man indicates his finger to that particular shop,"And we are giving you a superb introductory offer today as this is our first day of opening. We are choosing few couples. You have been selected as our lucky contestant and I have taken your snap just now." the man continues his talk with a smiling face, "And if your picture is got selected as first place winner through the lucky draw, both of you can go to the honeymoon trip to Kashmir and the cost is entirely paid by us." the man gives the special attention on the last line.
"What? Disgusting!!! Go to hell.."Rey leaves the place, he was unhappy beforehand because of Simmi's absense
" I am talking about heaven on earth. Why you.."
"Please don't mind. He is disturbed today. Show me the snap what you have taken. ummm...You are superb bhaiya." Taani comes to the place to control the situation
"Thanks bhabiji. You are so sweet unlike him." he murmurs the last words and shows her the picture. Though it is a simple picture where two of them are indicating two different directions, still with the virtue of his photography or for an unknown reason, this has turned to be the most lively picture of them. After all this is the first time when someone captured this two most different people in one frame, so he must be appreciated.
"Can I keep this one with me?"
"Of course madam, this is a free git from us. I will use another one for the contest. Just fill the necessary contact details on this paper" he explains
Taani fills her phone number and leaves the place in rush as she knows that Rey will become more impatience if he doesn't able to find her at right place. They take almost five hours when almost everything is purchased for every members of two families including servants except Taani. Neither of them can remember about this family member.
"Are we done with all of these for now?" he asks her directly
"Yes.."
"Are you sure?"
"Am I leaving someone? I have taken saree for two granny, bhiya ka shirt, clothes for chacha and chachi ji, Di, Simmi, Piyu and every one. Let me check once again" Taani starts seeing the list.
"Excuse me please!" Rey gets a phone call on his business mobile phone and goes away from the place to find a more silence place. Taani again seems lost in the each and every thing of her list. Few moments later, Taani gets surprised by hearing a large noise from the outside of the shop and at the same time, the floor shakes so well. She rushes out from the shop to see what happened exactly. She finds a huge crowd gathering at the left corner of that floor and discussing over something serious issue. Her curiosity keeps her dragging towards it when some random talks come to her ear.
"I think the girl is just injured and the man is also safe."
"No.. no, that man has saved her. But he, himself could not come out"
"See this child, Thank God, he has saved her. Don't know if he is okay or not."
Taani's eyes starts looking for Rey but coincidentally he is not present here. Her legs start shaking with the every step she is moving towards that spot, she finds this small distance as long kilometer to travel, she feels sweating having some doubt on unknown fear about Rey, her heartbeat skips so fast.
"What happen Bhaiya?" Taani asks the shopkeeper from where she has shopped few moments before
"That part of this mall has been broken suddenly Madam and one little girl was playing there, don't know if she is alive or not"
At last, Taani goes to that place by managing the mob and she can see Rey's face, it is same emotionless face - perhaps little red in anger or in some injury. A drop of blood falls in his white shirt from his head and at the same time, a drop of tear rolls out from her eyes without her permission.
"Bhai, you okay toh? Aapko laagi toh nahi? haath mein chot aaya kya" Simmi showers her chain of questions. She has already come to join them and found this just after entering into the mall
"I am fine, Simmi. Where is the manager of this mall? I will sue him.." Rey shouts high and starts looking for the manager. His eyes glued on her eyes while moving around for the manager, they meet, they want to speak a lot of things. Taani feels her lips are moving, but her voice is choked. She can't speak, something at her throat is hurting her. She needs to hide herself, otherwise it's difficult to stand here.
Some random talks are still coming to her what making the situation somehow sensible and pathetic at the same time. But she perhaps is lost in some another world, so these lines reach to her in pieces.
"He is so brave nah? He rescued that kid when no one was there. Why these shop owners cant see this? This part was so damage for so long and though we have complained for so many times, no one was there to hear us."
"Thank God that he could save himself too. Look at the chunk, if he was there for fraction of more minute, only GOD knows what would happen. This manager should be arrested. What type of negligence is this?"
Taani goes to the washroom. She splashes some cold water on her face and gradually feeling better than before. She is still in some weird thoughts, she knows that Rey is okay now, but still her heart has stayed with the last few lines of the mob. Simmi comes to see Taani.
"Bhabi..bhabi..you okay? Have you seen what..."
"Simmi, what would happen if your Bhai have been there for one more minute? He would have been died too." Taani starts crying now fully. All of her tears what she has restricted till now, come out by seeing Simmi in front of her. She acts like a pillar to Taani for this moment.
"Ohh Bhabi, Bhiya is fine now by God's grace, don't panic. Don't say anything wrong now, everything is good" Simmi tries to console her
"We could have lost him, Simmi. Why cant he just be careful? That chunk could fall on him too"
"Bhabi, please control yourself. Bhaiya ko kuch nahi huya. Your love is more powerful than anything else, it will always protect him in any circumstance. Don't worry, Bhabi. Please wipe your tears. Aapne aap ko samahalo...Bhaiya is perfectly alright. I know you are worried, I am too because we care for him, we love him. But, please be strong Bhabi, he needs you now. Bro has done for that little kid only, you know. We should congratulate him and yea, we should also scold him too for his hasty decision, after all he is a married person now."
Somehow Simmi can make her understand so that Taani can arrange herself within the next couple of minutes. But the fear of loosing him was so dangerous, so dreadful that she still keeps silence while returning home till Simmi breaks the silence.
"Can we please stop the car for a while to eat ice cream now?"
"Can we please postpone it for this moment?I am not feeling well, I want to go home."Taani expresses her wish
"Let's go nah please Bhabi, you will feel better!!"
She wishes to light the awkward situation for which both of them are not talking at this moment. She can understand that Taani is still worried and panicked. But why her brother is unnecessarily mum, she doesn't know. On the other hand, Rey was expecting a normal and natural care, attention from Taani's side. But when he finds Taani is so cold, so unconscious about the importance of the situation, it makes Rey angry against her. Rey himself doesn't know the reason - is it his expectation or it is something else acting against his wish? So, when Taani replies, Rey reacts like this,
"Yes Simmi, I also want to have it now, abhi mood hai.."
He parks the car one side of the road. Simmi drags Taani to the half open ice cream parlor as it's already so late night, "Don't you wish that Bhai should forget about that incident and behave normally? For that reason, we have to remain calm and behave normal. Please bhabi, bhai loves eating ice cream and he agrees after so long". she goes to the main counter for selecting their choice of flavor.
"Three vanilla ice cream with two scoops for each please" Simmi orders. Rey comes to Simmi for looking the other variety available at the shop. "Don't worry Bhai. I have already ordered our favorite one" she winks and follows Rey's glare. He is looking at Taani who stands little far from them watching at the sky, loosing in some thoughts. "Laagta hai, baarish hone wali hai." Simmi tells by looking at the sky too, "You know bhai, she is still scared of that incident. Bhagwaan na kare what would have happened if that chunk could fall on you. Both of us are very scared. She cried a lot Bhai. Please calm down Bhai."
Rey keeps his right hand on her head. He loves this little girl, his adorable sister. What Rinni can't show, she can do. The ice cream man offers them the product. Rey takes it and pays for it. Simmi takes on behalf of Taani too. "Bhabieee...come here fast, your ice cream..." , Simmi turns to Rey, " She needs time to recover Bhai, her heart is so tender, so soft. Aur ho bhi kyu nah, after all she loves you so much...ohhhooo it has started raining, let's get drenched together. Chalo na bhai vigte hai, please"
Both the sibling go to take a bath in the rain. Simmi asks Taani but she avoids it by saying that she will join them after some time. Taani keeps looking at Rey's face, it is shinning in happiness. Indeed, he loves eating ice cream while raining. Strange combination!! She smiles. She is becoming normal now, but her mind still thinks what Simmi has told her in the washroom. Is it true that she has started falling for this person? No..Never..
"Why not Taani? Then why you were become so worried by fear of loosing him though you know that you marriage is based on some stupid contract? And you have to go away from him whenever he wants..." Taani's heart questions her
"Exactly, there can't be any place of Love where it comes for contract, understanding" her mind answers back
"Don't lie to yourself Taani, didn't you get jealous of Aashi when Rey went with her? Didn't you make a blind hope that this time things can be changed? Why had you claimed that you trust your husband?" again her mind arranges some strong logic against her heart
"Because I was stupid..."
"Why do you love Rinni Di, granny so much though you know that he hurts you so much? Why did you feel pain when he cries because of his mother? Why did you become restless by his normal hiccups?" her mind still keeps questioning her heart
"No..no..I don't know why..I don't want to know the reasons also. What I know is that I want to see him happy only, forever" she screams
"Why Taani? Why? Why you want to see that person so happy who has made you unhappy forever? Why you are so concern about him who has made your life so miserable? Why do you care for him so much so that it really matters to you if he dies nor not"
"I don't have any answer for you..you just go away from here..."
"No..you have to answer me today.." her mind claims
"Ye sab bass aise hi ho gaya..."
"Aise hi?..No Taani, there can't be anything without any proper reason. Because You Love Him. Don't escape from your heart Taani. What are you waiting for? This is not a movie. Cold breeze will not start blowing to make you realize about love, no one will play mandolin for you in background. Haqiqat mein koi Raj, koi Rahul safed ghora pein char ke naahi aata aapna payar izhaar karne, Taani. You are in love and you love that man who has ruined your life"
Taani can not find any answer now. She comes under the open sky for being drenched with them, so that no one can differentiate her tears from rain drops. She is in love and she doesn't know that this feeling of love can arise this way also.
