Gauri Pradhan recently watched Mira Nair's The Namesake at a
special screening organised by Karan Johar and SOL, the creative
producer of Nach Baliye. She was overwhelmed. She says, "I want to
touch Tabu's feet. She's so good that I think all her other
performances pale in front of this one.
"I wonder how she pulled off playing a woman who starts off as a
young bride and move to the US and then her transition to an older,
mature woman. She is very good. The film is fabulous. I think the
book on which it is based can't be better than the film." Pradhan
devours books. She says her friends ticked her off for having missed
out on reading The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. "Having seen the film,
I haven't missed out on anything at all,"she says.
Pradhan was invited along with the other female contestants of Nach
Baliye2. "For every film premiere, we tag along with our husbands,
it was a pleasant change to go without them for once."
