Imagine these four characters- Asad, Zoya, Ayaan and Humeira- thrown into a free flowing river of love, emotions and new relationships. Imagine that just a few days ago, none of them knew how to swim and now destiny has not given them a choice. They are all learning- at different speeds, at a different rate but their destination is still the same.
This is what we get in the 200th episode of this show. Four main characters, thrown into this river of love by destiny but learning how to accept their fate- how to swim freely and how to go with the flow.
ASAD: He is the leader of the pack. Perhaps, being the oldest and the one who has had the privilege of learning the hard way (read Tanveer), has suddenly crossed that dam that separated him from this free flowing river. He has learnt to swim freely, accept his feelings, express his feelings and he is enjoying every moment of this experience called the river of love.
Yes, he was embarrassed for a few moments when Ammi and Najma walked in, but as soon as he saw Zoya's face light up, he forgot his own insecurities and didn't hesitate to express how happy he was to see her laughing and enjoying that moment. Despite the rain and the clouds, he went out of his way and displayed an array of stars in Zoya's bedroom, held her hand and said the sweetest things to his lady love. Imagine what love can do to a person. Asad is an open book of emotions now. He has no qualms about expressing his love for Zoya; how his life is 'jannat' with her and how he wants to always see her happy. No doubt, he is the leader of the pack.
ZOYA: She has always claimed that Asad is emotionally challenged but in reality, she is no less. Even though, she has accepted her feelings for Asad and is on cloud nine these days, has she really crossed that dam to enter the freely flowing river of love? She is almost there, but not there yet. There is still a latch on her heart. That's why we see her getting self-conscious when Asad gets too close, gets overwhelmed with all the happiness she is experiencing and instead of running into his arms after his cute dance performance, prefers to applaud and appreciate from a distance. Some people have complained that SJ is not up to the mark in these romantic scenes but I disagree- she is playing her character very well. Watch the second teri meri dance and you will know what I am saying- she can really be romantic and sensuous. Zoya is just not ready for it yet. She can laugh it off and say, "aap kya kar rahe hain Mr.Khan? Itni khushi mujhse bardasht nahin hogi, kahin nazar na lag jaaye." Zoya has had no problem in expressing and giving love to others but when someone gets too close, she hasn't learnt to open all the doors to her heart completely. That's why she still has to go through some more pain, some growth and realization which perhaps her fifth wish will grant her. Then she will learn to swim freely in this river of love.
AYAAN: He is a beginner who has just been thrown into the water. He is still confused- should he move forward, swim, get back to the shore or fight back? He will take some time but destiny will make sure he becomes a free flowing swimmer as time goes by.
HUMEIRA: She is in an unfortunate situation. She used to be the best swimmer of the pack but because of a major 'accident' has forgotten how to swim in the free waters. She only knows how to swim in her dreams. Just like an injured athlete dreams about their glory days or medals that they always dreamt of, but never won- Humeira will need to go through major rehabilitation and therapy before she can join this swim team again.
As a viewer, I would like to thank the whole QH team for this lovely journey of 200 episodes. Even I have learnt, that if I have to enjoy QH, I have to constantly hum…behne de behne de….
