And for Saras, a pramaad rectified is a way of Kumud's life to start again, but also a definitive end to his and Kumud's relationship! For if Kumud is happily married, the. Saras must exit!

Right now, she gets her strength from her anger against Saras and pramaad is not in her thoughts at all! His denouncing her as a wife hasn't bothered her much, she is still hurt with Saras and his perceived treachery.

Loved your post, but dobara bharosa toda - though technically first time was not bharosa todna, Desais continue to look at his first refusal as a precursor to the second and the more deadly one!

Desais are all about Kumud. Only Guniyal and Dugbaa can look from Saras's perspective. But fair enough. Its their beti.
Rectifying Pramaad is the right thing to do for Saras. We as viewers can take sides and have our own choices, but from Saras's standpoint that is a must-do. I like that approach. Saras is ready to exit if Pramaad isn't bad. His conscience is clear.
I think Kumud is very sincere in trying to salvage her marriage. Pramaad does matter to her at a certain level. Because, on his and her relationship and happiness lies the happiness of Desais as of now. There are tons of issues she deals with day-to-day about Pramaad. Right from phone calls from Desais, to verbal volleys from BD to abuse from Pramaad. Her defending Pramaad in front of Saras and others is one aspect. Her pleading with Pramaad to stop drinking is sincere.
My take is that while rectifying Pramaad, he comes to know about Kumud and Saras's recent past and he gets more bitter. And hell breaks loose.

^^ smrth bhai, pure curiosity, but what was his locus standi in the original?

Personally, I could not see "rationale" per se, in Saras today. There was the dawning dreadful realisation of the extent, there was anger and guilt combined, there was a resolve to stay put, to not "renounce"... He was all about action today, not thought, taking very many strides in just one epi... But not mental. He has taken first steps, and "steps" actually is all he has really taken... Rationale, may come later. CV's permitting, of course.

And yes, Kumud has for lack of a better word, "retreated"... Receeded, is perhaps a better word... Like in the breakfast sequence of today, she has "relinquished"... Would love to get inside her head at this point... Perhaps another one of Arshi's brilliant "manodasha's" is called for? 😳

Edit: Today was... Kumud is hurting. How? He has an inkling of. Why? Off the top of his head he can probably give reasons, since Kumud herself threw them at him... BUT the actual deeper insightful "why"... Will come later... Much, much later

Saras is right in a way. Right now his priority is stopping physical abuse. He simply can not permit Kumud facing such humiliation day in night out. Despite of Kumud herself; whether she is his or not, whether she is resisting on her own or not and whether he has right or not. He must stop it proactively if she is not cooperating...
