Chapter 6- Breaks

PAST

Rathore had an early morning meeting and to curse his luck it was extended and thus he had to rush the airport.

The roads were empty and he had reached in a record time some would say no traffic but he only knew that he was dying for a glimpse of her. She had gone too long for a story and this was the maximum time that he hadn't seen her. Deep down in his heart he knew that she was yearning for the same but it wasn't him in her case. She wanted Sameer and just his mere presence could piss her off but that's what he lived for 'he lived for pissing her off

His thoughts were interrupted by the announcement of her flight. The flight had landed it was matter of few minutes that she would be out.

Maushami Chatterjee was finally back in Mumbai the place that she belonged too. It would be at least 3 months that she would be seen Sameer and was looking forward to this trip since so many days. She was happy the whole time expect when she saw that the man waiting for her wasn't Sameer but him. The smile that adorned her lips was wiped away that instant she saw him. With steady steps she walked towards him taking in everything she could of the only man she didn't want to be with but the only man who would never leave her. Till Death do us apart was aptly coined for them

He had already seen the smile on her face which was wiped the instant she saw him. He had seen her becoming rigid and the change in her face was very evident .She walked towards him with a formal face that he had seen many times while she was talking with strangers 'Damn he hated it when she did that to him '.

She pissed him off and now it was his chance to return the favor and he did exactly what would have pissed her off'he sat on the chair with his feet on the table and hands behind his back . He had seen her flaring and that given him absolute delight. He looked at her not breaking the eye contact once but alas she was as stubborn as him and thus after a moment of anger she had calmed herself and stopped just few feet away from him waiting for him to get up .

"Arjun, I am taking the taxi "

"If you find one then all the best, there is a strike of taxis and auto and in case you want to travel by foot, be my guest "

"Then why are you here Arjun, just to inform me of the strike"

"Oh No you see, I had been forced to pick you up but then you always seem to piss me off and thus the result is in front of you "

"Well, I can call Sam"

"He won't pick up, busy in a meeting but now that you are so dying to go home ill take you along"

"Meet Me outside in 5 minutes "and he was gone and Shama cursed the day that she had met him..

He purposely didn't get his car but was on his bike. He knew that she loved travelling by bikes. It was a constant source of argument between the trio and the only one where they both were together fighting with Sam for it. The genuine happiness on her face was what he had wanted and that's what he had achieved.

"Arjun, its Sam birthday day after should be celebrating it. I was planning out for a small dinner for us , you know every well how much he would hate the extras"

"You plan for both of you but I have a date, I'll bring my bumblebee along "

"Bumblebee who is she"

"Dont Worry Shama , you will know her pretty soon"

With that they headed towards the ETF office

Meanwhile in another part of Mumbai ;)

She cursed the monsoon's umpteenth time as her car didn't start despite of the fact that she had done everything which she could find in Google. Finally she gave up and headed towards the taxi stand .Finally after 15 minutes of getting drenched in rain she finally managed to catch a taxi and headed for ETF.

It was already a bad day and she didn't want to see the beast especially after yesterday. Rains and sari don't go well but she had no other option. She was on a half day and was already running late thus she headed towards office without changing as she always used to keep a set of spare clothes.

Once in ETF office she hurriedly went towards the locker room only to bump into the beast.

Sameer wasn't able to sleep the whole night. He knew whatever Arjun said was correct as the first time he held her in his arms there were desires which had erupted the ones which he had reserved for only one woman. He had noticed Ayesha yesterday and he knew that she might be feeling awkward of the whole encounter but before he could contemplate about it he bumped into something feminine.

"You are okay "

"Do I look okay Sir?"

"I meant after yesterday "

"Oh Please spare me the lecture Sir "

It angered him to no extent, here he was trying to talk to her nicely but how could he forget Ms Ayesha Kapoor was not the ones to be handled like it.

"Next time if you want to walk into the office like this Ms Kapoor you better stay at Home only "

He closed the door behind him with a bang but the next moment he came back and threw her jacket at her.

"In case you have forgotten last night you had taken the clothes back home "

He smirked at her when she finally realized what he had remembered.

"Now that you are stuck like this better take this jacket as I won't tolerate any ...if I may use Indecency at my work place."

Before she could even retaliate he was out of the place and she couldn't really run after him but if looks could kill he would have been dead till now.

She quickly dried herself and hesitated a moment before wearing his jacket But then after that moment was over she felt the need of the warmth that the jacket could provide.

His jacket was warm unlike its owner.

The day had started without any activity for them, it was unusually quite maybe because they had to complete the paperwork which meant the beast being confined within his castle.

Soon it was time to leave for home and she headed out with the trio but a voice held her back.

"Ayesha "

"Sameer came to a halt few steps behind her but before he could say a words his jacket was thrown back at him "

"Thank you Sir, but I wanted to return it to you after cleaning it but seems you couldn't wait "

"I didn't come to ask for the jacket but i wanted to ask do you need a ride back home "

Shock would be an understatement but she composed herself quickly only to reject the offer as she had found her ride back home.

Arjun was back in office but what surprised her was that he came with a girl.

"Well I guess you can keep you jacket and the ride sir, I have OP now "

Arjun bent down to kiss her hand "Of course you do Bumblebee" and pulled her towards him.

It was only the Sameer had realized the presence of Mau and hugged her.

Both the mean looked at each other and then to the women in their arms.

"Alright than, let me drop Ayesha home now "

The ride back to home was silent one for both of them , Arjun was still trying to calm down his heart which had been ecstatic and at the same time hurt to see her again where as Ayesha was fed up of that lingering scent of Sameer that her jacket had left...She just needed a shower to get away from it .

"And here we reach to your abode "

"Thanks for the ride OP"

"Thanks just a thanks ...no coffee tea or me, I am hurt extremely"

"Considering your track record, I guess I'll just leave"

"Really Bee, just because I have a good heart and I cannot see women in tears I get a track record. I am really disappointed in you now. All I did was to offer a shoulder and well rest was her fault"

"Really Arjun, can anyone ever win from you. I guess you didn't get you tea till now "

Somewhere else in the ETF SUV a couple was heading home ...Silence always spoke between them and it was the same today

Sameer knew she needed time after meeting with Arjun and thus concentrated on the road only.

"You know, you are attracted to her , Arjun's Bumble Bee"

PRESENT

Arjun sat in his cabin remembering the time he had spent with her. It was just a journey of few days but that had given him memories of a lifetime. He looked again at his hands to see the scars that were left from the last time, they were fading away and he didn't like it was the only memory he cherished that he had given up on her and on them.

She had left him yet again only with a hope that she will return but it had been over that he had no news of him and thus he held on to the only memory he had of them ' A picture of her in the Sari that he had brought for her . The only thing she had accepted from him of all the 5 years she knew him...

Shama ...he whispered

Miles away she woke with a jolt, she felt she was called.

3 years , that was the time she last saw them but of course she had met both Arjun and Sameer separately in these 3 years and of course Ayesha too but it was just for a few days before she was snatched back to this world away from them...

How she wondered what would have happened between Aisha and Sameer ...and of course Arjun ...

It was 5 years before that she was dragged into the mess and by the time she came back Sameer ahd moved on and she was scared that did Arjun also move
