Chapter 20

Manyta was in her office , waiting for a very important call, it was a deal that she was hoping to get for about 6 months now, she wanted it badly because, it would make her company ten times more powerful than it was now, all the agreements were ok. Now just the official word of confirmation of the deal was needed. She rubbed her hands with heated anticipation.

Ring ring

She grabbed the phone with trembling hands

"hallo?"

"miss manyta? I am rahul takur of Saras industries. I was calling about the deal we had discussed earlier with your company"

"yes" and she held her breath. She waited for her reply

"we were really looking forward to do business with you , but then we received a better offer from another company, they were willing to pay 16.5% returns for our products, than your 10 % returns. The board found it attractive and signed the deal with them, I am sorry to say this means we do not have a deal"

"it is ok, I guess we were not so lucky, by the way, which was that company" she enquired.

"jaigarh group of companies"

"ok, thanks "

She kept the phone down and now she knew, udayveer, he knew how well she wanted the deal, he helped her draft the points of agreement. This was the fourth deal that they had lost this month because of udayveer. What was he doing now? Why?

The answer struck her, he was trying to take revenge on her, this deal stole her company of 40 crores which was such a great blow. He was a smart business man, so was she, it was time she met him face to face.

Udayveer was happy, he had managed to give another blow to manyta, the fourth in the month since he had taken the reigns of his company. It was just warming up for him, business was a game where you win and lose millions. It was not a major matter, he just wanted manyta to fell the sense of defeat . it was just tester doses for manyta, what would she do when the games really began. He smirked.

Manyat stood outside uday's office talking to his secretary

M: I would like to meet mr udayveer now

S: miss, do you have an appointment?

M: I don't have, but I want to meet him now, moreover I don't think, I need an appointment to see him.

S: sorry miss, I have strict orders not to allow anybody in without an appointment.

M: do you know who I am? Oh!!! What is happening here?

S: miss, you need to leave the premises if you don't have an appointment

M: oh!!! Are you ordering me now?

S: no miss, but I will have to call the security if you linger over here.

M: I would dare you to do it

Udayveer who was aware of the commotion outside his office came out.

"is there a problem over here, miss reetha? " asked uday

Manyta who was having her back turned, looked around to see uday

He looked breathtaking, dressed in a simple shirt and black pants he looked like a model, manyta's mouth popped open, he was more handsome than he was 6 months ago

"uday" mouthed manyta

U: miss manyta. He acknowledged

M: uday , I want to talk to you

U: miss manyta, do you have an appointment?

M: no, but, i'., I mean you know'.

U: miss manyta , let me make things clear, no appointment means no meeting, take an appointment and then we can talk

M: uday, I just need 5 minutes

Uday who was turning around to his office stopped, he looked at manyta.

U: um, I think, I could spare a 5 minutes

M: ah, thanks uday, said manyta and stated to walk towards his office

U: not now miss manyta, I will spare you 5 minutes around 12 45, my lunch time.

M: but now its only 9 45, uday, you must be joking

Manyta felt humiliated. But she sat there, waiting. Time moved very slow when you needed it to go fast. She had to wait for 3 hours, the nerve of that bas**d . she felt that she had waited for 3 years, than for 3 hours, when she was finally allowed to enter uday's office.

U: so miss manyta, what do you want from me?

M: uday'.

Uday cut her and said," mr singh. Call me mr singh. I allow only close friends and relatives to call me uday"

M: mr singh. (she said through her clenched teeth)why are you doing all this? Why are you personally attacking me?

U: miss manyta, its called business. You win. You lose, it is all a part of business. Don't take it to heart.

m: you know how much I was counting on those deals, you knew it. then why?

U: to put it in simple terms, you got all what you wanted till date, so its time you learnt to earn what you get. It is nice to have a taste of defeat once in a while, don't you think so?

M: uday, you cant do this,

U: what!!! What are you talking about?? Are you out of your mind? Why should we have A JOINT COMPANY??

M: uday, the companies will need to be made into one, as we are getting married soon

U: what!!! Married!!!

M: uday don't you know I am your fianc?

U: but I don't agree to this marriage

M: there is nothing you can do about it uday. It all settled, done even before we were 5 years. It is not in our hands. We are engaged since the age of 5

Uday remembered that unnathi called manyta' bhabhi', oh god, this is too much for him to process, he needed to meet his parents about what manyta told him now.

U: no one told me about this

M: why should anyone tell you, you should have known

Uday rushed to the dining room where his parents were having their lunch, he did not know how he had reached home, all that bothered him was he wanted his parents to tell him what manyta told him was a lie

Avantika saw uday and was surprised, he never returned home before 5 in the evening

A: uday beta, you are early

U: dad and maa, I want to know the truth, am I engaged to manyta?

Both of them looked at each other not knowing what to speak

Giriraj finally spoke: uday beta, we were planning to tell you this soon, but as you know it now'

U:so it is true' I cant believe that you all took such an important decision of my life without my consent. How could you do this to me

G: beta, listen to me, our riyasat had a major setback when you were around 2, it was devgarh who saved us from bankruptcy. They had given it in the form of dowry for us. We wanted this relation to end in a happy note, you and manyta were inseparatble when you where young, so it was a wise decision then.

U: we could settle them monetarily

G: beta, its no longer about money, it is about our pride too, we cant go back of our word now, it would be too insulting for us

A: yes uday, you are old enough to understand it, being a royal is not an easy task. You cant live your life as you wish. I hope you understand, your misunderstandings '

U: misunderstandings???

A: yes misunderstandings, beta, I know things are not good between you and manyta, but you will need to work it between your selves. She is a good girl, who is bit stubborn, you can correct it na once you are married.

U: don't I get a saying in this matter

G: beta, you need to agree. Think about it. the pride of our riysat lies on your shoulder.

U: I will think dad

Uday sad totally broken. He was going to get married with a girl whom he would like to strangle with his own hands. Life is so unfair. But he could make it the way he pleased na. he would give manyta a hard time . forgiveness was not one of his good points
