The trailer launch of Vishal Bhardwaj’s much-awaited film O’Romeo in Mumbai was meant to be a smooth, star-studded affair. Instead, it has now become the centre of online chatter, with reports claiming that veteran actor Nana Patekar allegedly left the event midway due to a long delay caused by the lead stars Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
Amid this film's director Vishak Bharadwaj confirmed this and said, "Agar wo hote toh boht acha hota lekin wo apne signature style mien uthe, aur bola hume 1 ghanta wait karwaya, mai jaa raha hu. Aur hume bilkul bura nahi laga because we know this is what makes Nana Patekar Nana Patekar."
What Reportedly Happened at the Venue

However, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri were reportedly busy at another location for a poster launch and reached the venue much later, close to 1.20 pm.
The delay, said to be around 1.5 hours, allegedly left Nana Patekar upset, prompting him to walk out before the trailer was officially unveiled. Tweets and posts describing the sequence of events quickly went viral, with many users debating whether the actor’s exit was a sign of displeasure or simply a scheduling conflict.

Nana Patekar was seen posing for photographers and interacting with director Vishal Bhardwaj. Dressed in his trademark kurta-pyjama, he appeared calm and composed in the available photos and videos.
What stood out, however, was his absence in any frame featuring Shahid Kapoor or Triptii Dimri. This absence further fuelled speculation about whether he left early or avoided the joint photo-op altogether. Despite what happened, Nana shared the O’Romeo trailer on his Instagram story and even posted it on his feed once it was released.
Meanwhile, O’Romeo continues to generate buzz ahead of its Valentine’s Day release on February 13. The film carries significant expectations, especially for Shahid Kapoor, who is aiming for a strong theatrical comeback after years of mixed box office results. With competition from Bejoy Nambiar’s Tu Yaa Main, all eyes are now on whether the film’s on-screen magic can overshadow the off-screen chatter.
