'Gaining weight shows on screen'

Jhalak Thakkar Neha Devi Singh (Bhoomi of Saarrthi) has decided to take a sabbatical from acting. She says shooting continuously for the soap over two years has finally taken a toll. "I've realised that there's life beyond work. I just want to empty my head of everything I've been doing. At this stage, I don't know how long I plan to be away," she says. Weighty issue The decision to quit Saarrthi was amicable. "I am glad Asit Modi (producer) understood my predicament and let me go. He's already found a replacement (Jhalak Thakkar). This change will also help rejuvenate the show with new faces." Asit Modi says that it was Neha's decision to opt out of the show. "She had her reasons so we agreed to let her go. She was also gaining weight and such things show on screen. She wanted time to herself to rejuvenate, so we didn't hold her back," he says. Neha Devi Singh Adds Neha, "I have taken this decision due to personal and professional reasons. The first thing that I plan to do is to cut my hair. I've had this look for the longest time. Shooting throughout the month left me with no time to indulge in other pursuits. I want to live life beyond the studio and do things at my own pace. I also want to pursue writing. I want to rediscover talents other than acting; basically I just want time to myself." Replacement theory Incidentally, Neha was studying in film school and wanted to be a director, but was told to act instead. She was earlier seen as Bijli in the thriller Sshhh…Koi Hai. Thakkar, the new Bhoomi of Saarrthi, has done a few Gujarati music videos and has acted in shows for Ahmedabad Doordarshan. She will replace Neha next week, when the track will have Bhoomi involved in a mishap and (as all small screen soaps go) will undergo reconstructive surgery to accommodate the new face. A few weeks ago, Modi had to bear the brunt of another replacement in his show when Adita Wahi, who plays the negative character of Shefali, opted out. He had to rope in Tiya (a lookalike of Adita) for the show.

ok...the weight thing is so pathetic! Shes been chubby for a long time now...n she has actually started loosing weight compared to when Mansens truth abt Satyas factorys blast came out!

Im still in shock abt this whole replacement thing n I dnt think I'll b able to believe it till I c it with my own eyes...I wud also like to add, however Neha was, the way she portrayed Bhoomis character, emotions, expressions were jus awesum...n it'll take the new girl a lot to impress us...specially if shes permanently gonna b Bhoomi...

but Im hoping after Neha enjoys her break, she joins back....

As 4 continuing to watch Saarthi frm my side, I think I'll c a bit 2 c where the story is going...n if I dnt like the track, its quit frm my side as well...
