India's 'Saddam Hussein' Village

The village of Lakhanow in Bihar has villagers re-naming their children to Saddam Hussein. One house has children named Saddam Hussein AND Osama Bin Laden.

They said that if Bush killed one Saddam, they would create an army of Saddams.

What causes such things? Is it due to the highly publicised hanging (which spurred young children to try the same at home)? Blind hatred towards America? Ignorance about Saddam's past misdeeds?

Is one country's dictator/terrorist another country's freedom fighter? Which category does Saddam fall under? Why do these people call him a hero or a martyr?

Perhaps a desparate show of Anti-Americanism.

"This is our way to pay tribute to our leader. We want to carry on his legacy here at least in our village," is what one of the villagers had to say.

I think one good thing is enough to forget some of past bad deeds... lot of peoples mind Saddam is a hero ..........Some people write he died like Bagat singh or like that people category....the fact is He is breave man.....i accept he done some panishable crimes...but the court and other law is not enough to procecute saddam.

Yes.........Capitalist countries always think the same.......Tamil tigers telling they are doing freedom fight but some other countries name as terrorist activities...

I think his last moments make him as a hero............

Saddam ruled 20 year in iraq, he always against US, in 20 year 10 year long iraq -iran war....then after kuwait war....He is actuly a type of dictator...With india he always keep good relationship. After kuwait war bush administration want to attack iraq again. So they find some false evidence, they manipulate the nuk issue and wepons issues..........now they create the communal violance....and a dummy judiciary to hang saddam.

When will these Indians have some respect and love for fellow Indians. Why don't they go and live in Iraq or Afganisthan? They live in India freely and support terrorism. Ignorant bunch!🤢

Ignorance, illetracy and vengeful without a cause IMO...

People who think the world is dominated by America and Bush and hate them for it ought to live in alternate world- dominated by the likes of Osama/Al queda/Taliban or Saddam.

I personally think Saddam was a dictator and he has opressed ppl living in Iraq. When America invaded Iraq then the atrocities done by them were all over the papers. HE def needed to be hanged.. But I feel the way Americ did it was completely wrong. Just becase they wanted to invade Iraq to get their oil fields they got a pretext that Saddam might possess Nuclear weapons. But not a trace of Nuclear weapons were found. Therefore the whole purpose of invading Iraq was just a gimmick set by Americans. They didnt care whther 1000s of ppl will die from either side. The way American dealt with Saddam and Iraq that made Saddam a hero in eyes of many. Who has given them a right to hang him till death??

But the most importatnt question is who creates Saddam and Osama Bin Laden?? None other than Americans

In general from the opinions of Asians I read everywhere, whether over here or in news

There is never a unequivocal condemnation of Saddam, there is always a but, correlation with America, Bush.

Next time you read an opinion, check, the next line always talks about the atrocities committed by Bush, about the Iraq Invasion

No-one ever talks about the tragedies, that people had to suffer due to the various wars that Saddam Caused, How a lot of families, Indian families got affected by this "pious" man attacking Kuwait, no, no, that is not our concern, we just want to find a way to condemn the big bad America, somehow the socialist eggs that Nehru laid in our minds are started to hatch, that we cannot differentiate between a Dictator and a Democracy 😉
