OS: When Shyam manhandled Khushi
Things change within a bat of an eyelid- She had known that for quiet sometime but every time that knowledge came in the forefront of her mind, it made her strangely sad and restless.
Khushi looked at the angry red bruises on her arms and ran her fingers lightly over them. A hissing sound escaped her lips, as she felt the pain. She couldn't believe that the monster had held her the way he did, intending to hurt her- to leave a bruise on her pale skin. She remembered another pair of arms that had given her a bruise so many times and yet she never felt the disgust in those hands that caused the hurt. Because Arnavji hurt her unintentionally. The naked pain in the eyes when she looked at the bruises on her arms soothed as much as his actions hurt.
A moment ago she had forgotten all her pain, all her worries as she had danced on the tunes ek do teen for her sisters sangeet. She had even danced on 'jiji tere jethji diwane' causing her family to look at Arnavji in horror, causing Arnavji to laugh whole heartedly and causing her to watch stunned as she saw the laughter that made her heart gallop wildly
'Haste huye wo bilkul laad governor nahi lagte'
The happiness had soon vanished as Shyam had confronted her when she had gone to change. He had held her arms in a tight grip, hurting her, his eyes having a crazed look that chilled her to the bone. Tears escaped her eyes, as she stood near the poolside, the green saree in her hand.
Things change within a bat of an eyelid - The more she tried forget and be happy, the secret that she had hidden from Arnavji broke to surface making it impossible for her to forget her pain- to be happy.

Arnav was talking on the phone to Aman when he saw Khushi dressed in the pink skirt looking like the doll di used to play with when they had been kids. She had her back to him and he smiled remembering the dance where she had made a perfect imitation of him. The thought that she observed him so closely made him feel warm and fuzzy inside. He didn't know why his heart raced around her but Khushi kumari Gupta was fast managing to break all the walls he had built around his heart. Her inner beauty, her innocence, her mischief, her smile her tears'it seemed as though his world had started to revolve around all the emotions that were so easily spoken by her expressive face.
Wanting nothing but to annoy her a little, to see the spark of anger in her eyes which seemed to brighten his heart each time, he slid the doors of the poolside open. He saw her turn her face away from him and wipe her cheeks'hell was she crying?
'Khushi tum.." He didn't complete his sentence as another memory flashed. Memory of her pretending to cry so that he would give permission for them to hold the competition for Sangeet. Giving a mental shake of head for her crazy antics, he looked into her eyes and said
"Now I get it' trying to fool me again, Khushi Kumari Gupta? Perhaps you don't remember but you have done this pretence of fake tears once before. You might have got a perfect 10 in your dance but Raizada family is still leading. So is it the fear of losing that is making you cry? Did you think I would melt seeing your tears----"
"Forgive me" said Khushi interrupting him in mid-sentence "that you had to see me cry once again. But I wasn't crying so that you'd see me cry. I just want you to leave me alone. "
Every trace of amusement left his face and immediately concern took over. He held out a hand to touch her arm but she hissed and moved her hand away and said
"Didn't you leave yet? This is a drama right? The curtain has fallen and the play has ended."
Arnav felt his heart twist painfully as she said those words. His fingers curled around her arm as he turned her to face him and he saw her close her eyes and hiss with pain. He uncurled his fingers and looked at her arm. The sight made his temper to reach the peak, blood rushed to his head and his eyes saw RED. Her arm had an angry red imprint of someone's hands and he guessed someone had manhandled her. His gaze travelled to her face and read the distress in there and he felt a murderous fury against the person who had dared to touch her. Without thinking he lifted her up in his arms and took her to his room ignoring her cries of 'what are you doing Arnavji." He lowered her on his bed and rushed to close the door that led to the pool side and drew the curtains against the glass doors.
When he turned, khushi was watching him in stunned silence, tears pouring down her cheeks. Arnav called Hari prakash on his cell phone and asked him to send ice cubes to his room. He then sat besides Khushi and looked at her straight in the eye, the fury enveloping him
"Who did it? Who touched you" He asked with gritted teeth.
Khushi lowered her eyes knowing she couldn't tell him the truth. That one secret that could destroy so many lives.
"I don't know who it was." She whispered.
Arnav took her hand in his and inspected her arm. The marks were fresh and that meant something had happened a few minutes ago. The thought that the person who had manhandled Khushi was downstairs, probably invited by him, enjoying the sangeet caused his anger to reach the breaking point. Angrily he grabbed a flower pot from the bedside and smashed it on the floor causing Khushi to flinch.
"Did he .." he couldn't bring himself to complete the sentence "Did he.."
"He didn't do anything Arnavji, other than hold me tightly. It was dark and I couldn't see his face and then we heard a sound of footsteps and he walked away." Khushi lied calmly and saw the relief shining out of his eyes.
"I will tend to your arm and then we will go downstairs. I will ask the security not to let anyone leave the hall. You can look at them and see if you recognize him.."
And when I find out who he was, I will crush his fingers and make sure he knows never to make the mistake of hurting this girl again. He would ruin the man and make him regret this day for the rest of his life.
"No Arnavji, Firstly I didn't see him properly and second we cannot ruin the sangeet by taking a wrong step and insulting the guests. My reputation and that of our families will be jeopardized. Besides I didn't even see him so how will we find him?" said Khushi trying to calm him down.
But Arnav was far from feeling anything close to calm
"So you mean to say that we let him go"
"There is nothing else we can do. Arnavji, he could have hurt me more but nothing of that sort happened. Devi mayyiya protected me. So please for my sake, don't say anything. Every one will worry unnecessarily."
Before he could reply, there was a knock on the door and hari prakash walked in with ice cubes. Arnav wrapped a fresh towel around the ice cube and rubbed it gently across her arm. Khushi could see the anger he was trying so hard to control and she had a warm feeling knowing that he was angry on her behalf. Her heart was racing at an alarming rate and the places were his fingers touched seemed to pass an electric current that she felt all the way to her toes.
When he was done, Khushi stood up holding her green saree .
"Can I use this room to change?" she asked "I feel safe"
The moment she said those words in the innocent manner, placing all the trust so completely in his hands, Arnav Singh Raizada knew that in that moment he had fallen in love with Khushi Kumari Gupta. He nodded and watched her go towards the bathroom, her hands shaking still. Wanting to remove her mind off the creep who forced himself on her, Arnav walked towards her and tapped her.
In her haste to turn Khushi stumbled and would have fallen had Arnav not held her. As she stood in the circle of his arms, she wondered when those brown eyes had come to mean so much to her. She felt him lower his head. She closed her eyes and held her breath as she felt his lips capture hers. The kiss was slow and giving. It seemed to say all the unsaid. It seemed to hold so many promises.
The moment the kiss ended, Khushi straightened up and looked at the man who was now smirking slightly, his eyes dancing with amusement taking in her blushing face. Khushi felt her heart thud loudly and she wondered if he could hear it too. Wanting nothing but to escape, she ran towards the bathroom and closed the door and leaned against it.
Her heart hadn't stopped thudding and she kept a hand on her chest. She then touched her lips and then she smiled as a happiness like she had never felt before seeped into her heart.
Things change within a bat of an eyelid' May be it was not such a bad thing.
