"Why are we doing this now?"
"We need to be prepared, Arjun!"
Arjun yawned before speaking again. "Okay, so you go first."
"Well, I was thinking," Purvi said as she flipped to a fresh, blank page in her notebook. She reached for her favorite pink pen and wrote 'NAMES FOR BABY KIRLOSKAR' across the top of the paper.
Arjun looked at the title and began to laugh. "You could have just wrote baby names, you know."
"Arjun, that's boring. Learn to live a little!" Purvi explained while creating two columns and labeling them 'boy' and 'girl'.
Arjun let out a sigh before remaining quiet for a few moments. "You're sure you're not pregnant, right? You're not just going to plan all this out and then say, 'SURPRISE HONEY, I'M PREGNANT!', right?"
"YES Arjun, I'm not pregnant - I took one of those tests a few days ago! It was negative," she shared as Arjun breathed a sigh of relief.
"I want a baby girl, but I'm not ready to hurt every guy that looks at her yet," Arjun explained to Purvi causing her to burst into a fit of giggles.
"Aw Arjun... you're going to make such a great dad," Purvi complemented while sporting a wide grin.
Arjun went behind Purvi and pulled her closer to him. "Only if you're the mom," he whispered before kissing her cheek.
The bright pink hues on Purvi's cheeks faded away when Arjun started throwing out names for girls.
"How about Sania?" he suggested.
"Are you saying that because of Sania Mirza? We are not naming our baby Sania." Purvi expressed her anger by getting the notebook and hitting Arjun with it.
Arjun rolled his eyes. "Okay, what names do you have then?"
"WELL, if we have a boy, I want to name him Vinay!" she exclaimed before looking up at him in excitement. "Isn't that a perfect name?!"
"Vinay? Do you mean like Vinay - your first fiancee?" Arjun asked before chuckling. "HAHA! Yeah, how about no."
"It's not like that! I always loved the name - I wasn't going to let him spoil it."
"Yeah? Well maybe that's how it is with me and Sania. Hey, wait a minute. Remember how you said you wanted to name your daughter after one of your precious sisters?"
Purvi gasped. "I SAID THAT? I take that back, that never happened, and if you bring that back up... well, I have lots to blackmail you with."
"That's not all though - the one night after the business conference in Pune was quite hilarious! You gulped down that 'fruit punch' like it was nothing."
Purvi groaned. "What other stupid things did I say?"
"You said you wanted to name OUR baby after Hannah Montana if that whole 'sister' thing didn't work out."
"Our baby? But we weren't even dating at that time..."
"Exactly."
-
Arjun and Purvi sat in silence for nearly 20 minutes. They tried hard to think of names and they were on the verge of just eliminating the possibility of having a baby.
"Pari," Arjun blurted out, breaking the silence. "We'll name our daughter Pari."
Purvi looked up from her notebook and up at Arjun. "Pari. Pari? PARI!" she finished in excitement.
"How do you like the name?" he asked her, just as happy as she was.
"It's perfect, but..."
"But?"
"I want a boy."
Arjun groaned. "I want a girl."
"Okay, whatever. It's fine because we're going to have 7 kids."
"7 KIDS? Are you mad?"
"No - see if we only have one, what if I'm not it's favorite? I need at least one of my kids to love me a lot, so we have to have options," Purvi explained.
Arjun chuckled and slipped his arms around Purvi's waist. "All our kids will love you - whether we have 1 or 7," he said matter-of-factly while resting his chin on her shoulder. "Let's hope it's 1 though," he mumbled to himself.
