Ekta Kaul calls Srishti in ‘Hui Gumm Yaadein’ the perfect character for TV comeback

Sony SAB, a prominent name in the Indian general entertainment space, is gearing up to launch its upcoming medical drama Hui Gumm Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyaan. The show is the Indian adaptation of the internationally popular Italian series DOC, which has already been successfully recreated in several countries. Rooted in the powerful idea of second chances—be it in life, relationships, or self-identity—the narrative traces the remarkable transformation of ace physician Dr. Dev, portrayed by Iqbal Khan. Following a life-altering accident that wipes out eight crucial years of his memory, Dev is forced to rebuild his personal and professional world from scratch.

Bringing emotional intensity and complexity to the storyline is actor Ekta Kaul, who steps into the significant role of Srishti, Dr. Dev’s former wife. A capable and sharp-minded woman, Srishti was once a dedicated doctor herself but chose to put her career on hold to care for their children.

Over time, she assumed the role of managing the hospital’s administrative operations, the same institution where Dev once practiced. For years, Srishti held Dev responsible for the collapse of their marriage, believing his emotional detachment, growing arrogance, and loss of compassion—especially after the heartbreaking death of their six-year-old son Dhruv—had changed him beyond recognition.

However, Dev’s memory loss introduces her to a drastically different version of the man she once loved: sensitive, caring, and deeply devoted to her once again. This unexpected shift leaves Srishti torn between the scars of the past and the possibility of rediscovering love.
