I couldn't wait another 9.5 hrs so I watched the epi online!
So, Dadaji, the great, made his appearance. This was a hilarious epi. It was amazing to see the way the inhabitants of the Borasagar family behave in such a manner. I mean seriously, bowing down to a human being? Standing in line at attention? What's with this family and elders. This would have been funny, were it not for the underlying themes of discrimination, disrespect, and bigotry. (Ahh! Did someone say this is a family show??)
I could go on, but honestly, I know this is a show about changing archaic ideologies steeped under guise of tradition but actually a way of control and power, but this is a bit too much, nah?
Or perhaps, people in India, (since this is an Indian show, no offense, please) actually bow down to other humans??

😊 I haven't seen the episode and I don't live in India and my family is not very traditional...we are more like the Sarabhai's. However, the Borasagar's are orthodox and the elders like a controlling hand. Individuality is not promoted or encouraged. There is a lot of feet touching and bowing to elders.

Nobody has any opinions?
Dadaji has brought in glaring prominence some of the the underlying themes of the show.
How come nobody cares about this??

Yeah, I understand, but these guys were standing on attention, as if in the army line! And when Manthan didn't bow down, he was reprimanded. A dictator controls others. These people are from Dadaji's own family!

There is a lot of reverence towards the elders and feet touching is a way of showing that.
But it is probably overdone in the show.

I come from a family like the Sarabais, so can't relate to this dictatorship.

Darling this is shown in most Indian shows and even in Sanz's last show when Lavanya had to obey all the rules of Naani and Daadi track.I didn't want to bring this here but I guess that's what happens in India.
Well in my family even,it would be considered disrespect when a younger person doesn't meet a guest that too an elder person properly. So what Dada ji said for CC was quite normal.CC had a reason but people do judge without getting the proper knowledge.
Edit: Ok u were talking about bowing down physically...Most of the TV shows show this crap.I was reminded of a scene from Devdas when Ash bows down in front of SRK and touched his feet🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢😆😆

Arre baba! I'm not talking about showing respect to the elders. And I do understand that different cultures have different ways of showing respect and reverence to elders.
I'm talking about the elders showing disrespect to the younger ones! The way Dadaji is behaving is like he is God. Well, not. Because even God gave mankind a will and expects mankind to make use of the intelligence given by God...
It's the way the rules are set up in the name of tradition. For example:
Bigotry - My way or the highway! Nobody is allowed to have any opinions because I say so. And anyway, my opinion is the only one that matters. So don't even bother to have one.
Disrespect - You must respect me. I am older so I don't need to respect you. My dignity is more important than yours. In fact, your dignity is non-existent where I am concerned.
Discrimination - Bahus must bow down. Girls of the family don't need to. (Why?? Bahus are not "family?")

Umm... not allowed to discuss previous show on Chhan Chhan so I won't go there although there is a lot I could say on that, too!😆

And I am not saying that they should not greet them "properly" I am saying that if Dadaji demands respect from others, he should also respect others. And it's not as if CC did not greet Dadaji "properly." She did. BUT yeah, she did not stand on attention to him in the army line, she did not bow down her head to him, and she did not wait to listen to his demands. And that has what has majorly pissed him off. That she did not stroke his self centered ego! Because nobody and no-one is more important than him!

You have seen that? In real life?? People bowing down to other people?
Because they want to, or because it is demanded and they have no say in it?
