Chapter 3
Abhay's motionless body lay on the ground. Stale blood oozing out from his neck.

Piya woke up panting heavily. What a terrible dream! She groped for her phone to look at the time. The clock struck 7 o'clock and sun was as bright as it could be. Piya's eyes gleamed red with fear and pain. When she stopped breathing heavily, he heard of the various sounds. Car horns were faintly audible. There were no chiruppings near her house as the birds were scared to come near the den of fiery predators. In fact, the Raichand's house was always like an animal+insect repellant place. The house repelled living creatures just like one magnet repelled the same pole of the other magnet. Piya was now used to living in a VERY QUIET surrounding but for the first time, that silence irked her. She tried to convince herself that it was a bad dream, but heart would just didn't listen to her.
"Abhay! Where are you?"
She took hold of the phone and tried for Abhay. The service provider informed that the cell was out of reach. She ran downstairs without clearing her dress or hair. Haseena was sitting in a chippendale chair and reading the business news.
"Mom! Abhay! He is not answering my calls"
Haseena was alarmed to see this condition of Piya. "You calm down honey! Abhay is alright. He must be on his way. He will talk to you once he reaches Italy"
"Italy?? When did that happen mom?"
"Didn't he tell you. He has business assignments there."
"Mom! I have a feeling that Abhay is in trouble."
"No he isn't honey! Go have some water. I will ask him to contact you if he connects with Chand."
"Mom! I swear... There were 3 BIG CREATURES... Animal like, and they bit Abhay. They left him to be dead. We should go and see"
"Its just a BAD dream Piya. Go get something in your tummy! Go! Trust me, Abhay is fine."
Piya did as she was told. A little amount of food made her feel better. She thought as if she had been intoxicated by some kind of material. And as the food passed down her throat, her intoxication was flowing away. She stuffed her tummy with salad and light food and went back to her room. She took out her books and tried to revise her lectures. She tried to concentrate on her assignments and for nearly 3 hours she was engrossed in her lessons. At about 9, she was still busy taking down her lectures into a notepad revising when her phone rang. She took the call without looking at the caller ID.
"Hey Piya"
"Abhay? Is that you? You moron!! You idiot!! You psycho!!!!! How COULD YOU?"
"Shhchhh! Man! Piya just calm down"
"You expect me to CALM down?"
"Yes, please honey! I wanted to tell you about the business meeting here but you hung up!"
"I hung up??"
"Yes! Don't you remember! I called you after your class and before I could say anything, you hung up saying you were in class"
"Sshhhcchh! I am sorry!! But you should have left a message?
"Chill Piya. Its perfectly fine. I had to do some final minute assignments. Thats why I didn't leave a message"
"When are you coming back?"
"Piya, whenever Mr. Ahuja- one of our Indian clients signs the agreement, I shall be returning back."
"By the way honey, how was your first day at College?"
"Yeah! It was great. Alls well but I am so used to seeing you studying with me that I can't imagine you're working now."
"I know! I am a li'l irresistable"
"Ahaan! Hmmmph I miss you so much"
"Already? I haven't been away even for a day honey!"
"I know that!... Err! Btw yeh honey honey kya laga rakha hai?"
"You're my wife! How should I address you?"
"Like you did when I WASN'T your wife... You get it?"
"Ohh! So my wife doesn't like being referred to as one?"
"No! I am proud to be called Mrs. Piya Abhay Raichand...! But.."
"But..?"
"But... I don't want YOU to turn into a mushy mushy sweet hubby..."
"I know that! Hun! Okay I am gonna call u Mrs. V"
"Ehh! Mrs. V?"
"Yeah! Mrs. Vampire :P"
"Shut up!"
"Someone's irritated..."
"Abhay! I na will not leave you... Ek baar waapas toh aa..."
"Ha ha! I am scared! I love you Piya... Bye!"
"No... But Abhay! Wait suno! I love you too! Bye---urrggh"
Piya threw herself back on the bed... Recalling her dream which made her break into a giggle. She got up finally and put on her jeans properly to go down.
Haseena and Amrita were waiting for her to have her dinner. Haseena had lately taken vigorously to cooking. She cooked almost everytime of the day and had already collected a dozen of cookbooks.
"I made you special Mushroom Ravioli...!"
"OMG! Sounds delicious!"
"I don't how the heck it tastes though"
"Don't worry Maa! Err! Mom! It'll be cool!"
"Thats sweet of you honey..."
Piya almost bit her tongue when she heard the word "honey". She broke into a silent hard laughter recalling her conversation with Abhay... Amrita smiled as she had forseen the moment...
