Rakesh Anand Bakshi, son of legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi, has objected to the lyric credits given in the remix of Saat Samundar Paar, featured in the upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. He questioned the decision to credit an additional lyricist for what he described as minimal changes to the original song.
The original Saat Samundar Paar appeared in the 1992 film Vishwatma. It was composed by Viju Shah, sung by Sadhana Sargam and Udit Narayan, and written entirely by Anand Bakshi. In the credits of the new remix version, however, the lyrics have been listed as written by Anand Bakshi and Karan Nawani.
Rakesh Anand Bakshi raised the issue through an Instagram post on December 24. He argued that adding a few lines to an existing song should not result in co lyricist credit. According to him, such practices dilute the contribution of the original writer and blur long standing credit norms within the music industry. “The producer and or publisher should not claim credit for any writer, singer, etc. as co lyricist for adding one or two lines to the original lyrics,” Rakesh wrote. He further added, “Like they’ve put original additional music in the credits, they could have done it with the lyrics too. This is the format which is currently used on streaming platforms.”

ASAP. It’s 2025 today. Not 25 CE that they can’t effect reform ASAP,” he stated, expressing frustration over outdated crediting systems.
The remix version of Saat Samundar Paar is sung by Karan Nawani and features Kartik Aaryan performing with dance group Quick Style. The song has drawn criticism online, with viewers expressing disappointment over its presentation.
One Reddit user wrote, “Divya Bharti crying in the grave.” Another commented, “This looks like a parody. why does he do that with his neck everytime he dances. the weird forward slouching. he looks dumb as sh*t.” A third reaction read, “Who choreographed this?! QuickStyle have done so much better before what is this juvenile nonsense?.”
The film releases December 25.
