a mughul or muslim cannot have more than 4 wives. either the husband have to divorce/ one of his wife must die inorder to marry 5th one. As far as history goes akbar has 3 wives [ i dont whether 4th one is ther or no ] and rest are his mistress. they call themselves to be his begums and they are even given a status of wives but he never really married them. he just accepted them to be his mistress thats all.

so the number of such "begums" was more in akbar's harem. but first Ruqaiyya had lot of polictical power, then salima was kind of poet in the darbar.. and when jodha entered she got powers that no other wives got. she had her special statement in matters of political affairs. she was given incharge of certain piligrimage too.

hahaha.. u are right, many are still in a daze of Jodha Akbar movie. he was shown as one-woman man [ as in marriage terms ] which is not true.😆

and as far as jodha akbar love goes, i would like to say a human being wont change to anybody. unless and until a person has major impact on him. if he just respected her, then he wouldnt change to the extend of giving jodha the certain rights that none of his wives got. not even ruqaiyya. if all this was false we wouldnt have been hearing the name of Jodha-Akbar [ or marium-uz-zamani ]

and her tomb wouldnt be placed near akbar's.😳thats the fact
