They did not portray him as single and ready to mingle. They simply avoided the topic of all his previous wives, and they never showed his harem either. So there was no question of any previous wife dying.In any case, the Rajput kings routinely had several wives, so why should Jodha have expected to be the one and only wife of Jalal?

This approach in the film saved money and kept the story on the central track.You have to remember that they had only a very limited amount of time, 3 hours plus.Not like Ekta here, who is undoubtedly targetting 500 episodes over 2 years at the minimum.

The film w/Hrithik Roshan & Aishwariya Rai was off in the marriage area of Akbar's life! In reality, he was already married pre his marriage to Jodha. I don't like how he was portrayed as a single guy who is getting married either for the first or second time in the film (I don't remember if his previous wife died in it or not).

jodha burried after her death! not in the serial

Jodha was the woman who changed his whole life with meaning to live and let live others, so i think she is given lot of importance in Akbar's life and he was called as "AKBAR THE GREAT" only after his marriage with Jodha, so the history doesn't say false atleast to a certain extent...

Reality n TV shows are always had sum difference wat it was shown in the show is very much diff from real history n its already stated in disclamer that it dnt claim to be a historical one 😉

according to history Raquiya is his first nd closest wife.. bt he had a gr8 respect towards jodha bai... nd most impotantly his successor Jahangir was d son of jodha-akbar😊

a mughul or muslim cannot have more than 4 wives. either the husband have to divorce/ one of his wife must die inorder to marry 5th one. As far as history goes akbar has 3 wives [ i dont whether 4th one is ther or no ] and rest are his mistress. they call themselves to be his begums and they are even given a status of wives but he never really married them. he just accepted them to be his mistress thats all.

so the number of such "begums" was more in akbar's harem. but first Ruqaiyya had lot of polictical power, then salima was kind of poet in the darbar.. and when jodha entered she got powers that no other wives got. she had her special statement in matters of political affairs. she was given incharge of certain piligrimage too.

hahaha.. u are right, many are still in a daze of Jodha Akbar movie. he was shown as one-woman man [ as in marriage terms ] which is not true. 😆

and as far as jodha akbar love goes, i would like to say a human being wont change to anybody. unless and until a person has major impact on him. if he just respected her, then he wouldnt change to the extend of giving jodha the certain rights that none of his wives got. not even ruqaiyya. if all this was false we wouldnt have been hearing the name of Jodha-Akbar [ or marium-uz-zamani ]

and her tomb wouldnt be placed near akbar's. 😳 thats the fact

Jodha and Akbar were real but JA is fiction.

Yup, Jodha and Akbar were real, but their so-called love story has been distorted from actual facts. Their marriage was a simple marriage of convenience. While Akbar did value Jodha's wisdom & even respected her as the mother of his heir, his favorite wife and soulmate was his childhood friend, Ruqaiya, who remained his favorite till the end of his life. In fact, it is written that Akbar often regretted remarrying so many times, and that he wished he had practiced monogamy (having only one wife) instead of polyfamy.

Jodha was his 3rd wife after Ruqaiya & Salima. She is said to have had a pretty good relationship with them. Obviously no co-wives could be best friends, but these three were on good terms unlike the other ladies in Akbar's harem.
