'Shakti Kapoor's a thorough gentleman'
She's lost oodles of weight, her face is positively glowing, the dimples on her cheeks seem to have gone deeper….all in all, Parizad Kolah-Marshall is looking more beauteous than she ever did before! What's the secret? "Well, the only secret is my blissful married life! I think this has been, by far, the most blessed period of my life!" says Parizad even as she adds, "Not to mention that my association with the Laughter Champion Series on star One, a stint that I enjoy so much."
Although the format of the show has been altered, Parizad's role however remains the same, essentially. One wonders whether after doing the same stuff for more than a year an a half now, isn't she getting a sense of dj vu? "Not at all. Even though my role is the same, every show is a different story altogether; you never know what these talented guys come up with and that suspense keeps me waiting for every other episode to begin. Also, by now, I have come to share such a good rapport with the team that it's like being with a family. You don't get tired of seeing your family members, day in and day out, do you?" she questions.
In the similar vein, Parizad admits to be missing Shekhar Suman, who has ceased to be a part of the Laughter series. "I miss him a lot. Apart from being an extremely talented and lively person around, he used to keep doling out tips to improve my work, which have proven to be very useful for me till now."
However, Parizad is also excited about having Shakti Kapoor on the show. "We had had a lot of fun when he had come as a guest judge for one of the Laughter Champion episodes; so, it's going to be fun having him with us." Ask her if she's not wary to be in close contact with the prime-most villain of Bollywood, Parizad gurgles with laughter, saying, "No way! He's just the opposite of all those scary roles he does in films. He's a thorough gentleman and to tell you one more truth, I have been quite a fan of his since childhood, especially of his comedy and hence I was pretty pleased to know that I'll be sharing screen-space with him!"
Parizad, despite having all the prerequisites of a quintessential Bollywood heroine, has no yet been seen on the big screen? What could be the reason; doesn't she harbour any Bollywood dreams? "Not really. Although I'd love to do a good author-backed role if offered one, I don't crave to be in Bollywood. I'm pretty content with what I'm doing on television."
