Saras, your Harvard University diploma is now rescinded for the following reasons:

1. You missed the most obvious reason of your mother's suicide. Hint, evil step-mother.

2. You are going to act just like your father and break a worthy woman's heart by rejecting her. There is no logical reason to support the move they have been hinting at from the start - leaving her at the alter (Dukhba style).

3. We didn't realize you were this slow. How did you ever get through our program. Oh, is this the Harvard that moved to the UK to suit Danny's convenience? In which case, it was fake anyway. How did you remember your mother so well and never doubt your absent father?

4. You lose to Rahil Azam, you loose to Rahil Azam. Permanently. The dude's a keeper.

5. The lovey-dovey was overkill as you did little other than staring at her. Where is your Harvard groove? Or even nerd-awkwardness? Even teenagers don't behave like that anymore. Pictures and decor, really? That's it? So common.

Good heavens, you guys are very serious these days. The post was meant to be tongue n' cheek with some logic thrown in. All these defenses about why a Harvard grad cannot also have a childhood trauma does not work. It is not about the trauma, but the reaction to it. It is not that he hasn't grown since the trauma or thought about the incident. I know people who have gone through this, mature, educated people just like Saras the character. And the only question they ask is WHY. To anyone minutely educated is expected to find that most obvious answer. In the first few episodes Saras did remember how is mother used to make up stories about the negligent dad. That is what he thought his father was and yet he didn't come up with why that combined with Guman would make the perfect recipe. The writers were aware of this and they waited too long to reintroduce it, that's why it looks so odd for Saras to react this way now.

Well, I need not explain why I predicted he would leave her at the alter if tomorrow's precap is anything to go by. They have been symbolically hinting at this for a while. The only twist would be if he did show up last minute only to be rejected by Kumud this time because he broke her trust.

I said Rahil Azam because we do not know the character's name. If I had to compare his to Gautam, I would have said Gautam. Here I was talking about Saras the character and how Rahil's background is shaping up to be a solid one. If the marriage happens, his is not the kind of family you can take away Kumud from. Marriage to her is a life-time deal, we can say that without knowing the kind of character Rahil is. So that was the reprimand. You lose to this character, it's irreversible. Also, I cannot call him Pramad because that presumes he's a bad character and much more. As the bracelet falling today showed, her relationship with Saras will break and get re-attached later. So what comes in between? This marriage. They have to go along with the book at some point. They have already derailed too much.

Also Saras "did" a lot more without any romance showing up on screen same a few stares and hugs. Sanjay is capable of writing and supervising better romance scenes but as we know he is only licensing his name and the writers these days are rehashing scenes from his movie. The romance is lacking in execution. It doesn't mean they have to be explicit but they have to have better written words.

Being from a classic like this and a man like SLB, I do have high standards for this show. But these days they are operating like any other soap. That is disappointing. There was a time this show was so good I would watch it numerous times a day. If you admit it to yourself, you will also see that THAT kind of material hasn't been delivered in a while.

Welcome Mary 😊

dont forecast friend we just still dont know the conditions ...how saras is not able to reach the marriage...sure the makers wont make it illogical as it was in the actual novel...cvs seem to follow novel twists yes ...but not the reasons behind it...else u would had never had such intense love saga and pms things

dont blame him for what he is ...that is how he has been charactered ...their is no hard and fast rule to be a Howardian

Its all on how we perceive the situation and the reactions of people around and till now ,I have found him quit truthful and naive

and who said he lost dear...the game has just begun ...its love that wins over all and here i am still quit positive about it

we r bound to have our opinions but presumptions may not always be the final outcome

He was not a Harvard student when he saw his mother drown herself. He was a 3-4 year old crying for her. There are some things which scar you for life and that has nothing to do with where you studied. I'm sorry but there is no connection whatsoever. He probably never wanted to think about the reason and if he did it might be that LN never had time for Saraswati.

Let's wait to see how and why Saras refuses and then let's make judgements on that. I don't quite understand the losing to Rahil implies?

You can go to the top university but still lead a depressed life, maybe due to the pressure of doing well. You can't say 'Oh he's going to so and so university, how can he be depressed'.

agree with u reemz!

mary, today i also could not find the connection of ur post to saras's characterization..education is one thing and what happens in life is another chapter..saras was a child when he lost his mother, as he grew up he wanted to forget that horrible incident..he was not looking for answers he was looking for salvation, which he found in kumud and in getting his father back..now he has gone to square one where he has nothing to loose, nothing to give, and nothing to gain except go back to his own shell where he will be haunted by the untimely death of his mother, a being whose womb was his shelter for 9 months..whose arms and lap was his support for 4 years, and now he is out in the world alone and unprotected, and no one to carry him in the arms to give him shelter of love and care!

Sorry!
Does Saras really fit into your categories? No! I don't think so and for some points we need to wait and watch to see what happens 😕

oh well what has studying in haward university to do anything with his lonlines. He was just too young to even understand what was happening in his life when his mother left him. He got one step mother who just wanted money,. one father who never cared about him, a sad life which had nobody. He had to spend his time in meditation and keep himslef engrosseed in work just to keep himself sane, these are the different shades of the character. He dosent want to hurt kumud but its just his past which is coming on his way, he never thought that he will be made to face the worst truth of his life all alone.

Lets just wait for the future.

-A professional degree, even from Harvard, does not guarantee that the person would have a near perfect personal life or even the ability to judge right and wrong .. history says, some of the greatest men from the past, had major issues in their personal lives.. let's spare Saras on that :)

-Not everyone will be inclined to presume that his/her father cheated on their mother for some other woman. Man marrying a second time after his first wife's death is not uncommon.. That doesn't necessarily mean he cheated on his first wife.

- when he lost his mother, he was too young to even know what suicide is, let alone the reason for it. By the time he could figure out how and why, they were in Dubai, away from anyone back home, who could possibly tell him anything regarding the incident.

- it is too early to predict why he wouldn't turn up for the wedding.

- loose to Rahil ? who Saras or Gautam? sorry didn't get this one!

-Oh he did much more than staring..!! ;) so what if we didn't get to see it lol

Childhood is the base for everything in life, shaky roots can weaken you all your life, and that is what has happened with Saras. A terrible, loveless childhood, with losing the most important person in his life, having no one to appreciate, encourage or love him, he has only learnt to fear relations, and that will not change overnight because he has fallen in love.
And what has his life to do with where he studied really? Education and upbringing are two different things. Nothing can replace the importance of parents love in your life. And he weakens only when he has to face that aspect of his life.

I have read the novel. By that, I can only conclude that Saras is a cheater, careless man. He dumped Kumud once he has fight with LN...Is this a reason..???????

What is Kumud's fault..?? Why the hell he played with Kumud's emotions and her love...????

He was not happy iwth the situation and so he took Sanyaas..!! What about Kumud..??

Thanks for sharing!

I never got this information before, and I hope Saras in the serial is not a cheater😭

Having a fight with his father is not a valid reason to dump the girl who is waiting for him to arrive with baaraat.

But this is scary, as the serial is more like this at the moment😭
