1. You missed the most obvious reason of your mother's suicide. Hint, evil step-mother.
2. You are going to act just like your father and break a worthy woman's heart by rejecting her. There is no logical reason to support the move they have been hinting at from the start - leaving her at the alter (Dukhba style).
3. We didn't realize you were this slow. How did you ever get through our program. Oh, is this the Harvard that moved to the UK to suit Danny's convenience? In which case, it was fake anyway. How did you remember your mother so well and never doubt your absent father?
4. You lose to Rahil Azam, you loose to Rahil Azam. Permanently. The dude's a keeper.
5. The lovey-dovey was overkill as you did little other than staring at her. Where is your Harvard groove? Or even nerd-awkwardness? Even teenagers don't behave like that anymore. Pictures and decor, really? That's it? So common.
Good heavens, you guys are very serious these days. The post was meant to be tongue n' cheek with some logic thrown in. All these defenses about why a Harvard grad cannot also have a childhood trauma does not work. It is not about the trauma, but the reaction to it. It is not that he hasn't grown since the trauma or thought about the incident. I know people who have gone through this, mature, educated people just like Saras the character. And the only question they ask is WHY. To anyone minutely educated is expected to find that most obvious answer. In the first few episodes Saras did remember how is mother used to make up stories about the negligent dad. That is what he thought his father was and yet he didn't come up with why that combined with Guman would make the perfect recipe. The writers were aware of this and they waited too long to reintroduce it, that's why it looks so odd for Saras to react this way now.
Well, I need not explain why I predicted he would leave her at the alter if tomorrow's precap is anything to go by. They have been symbolically hinting at this for a while. The only twist would be if he did show up last minute only to be rejected by Kumud this time because he broke her trust.
I said Rahil Azam because we do not know the character's name. If I had to compare his to Gautam, I would have said Gautam. Here I was talking about Saras the character and how Rahil's background is shaping up to be a solid one. If the marriage happens, his is not the kind of family you can take away Kumud from. Marriage to her is a life-time deal, we can say that without knowing the kind of character Rahil is. So that was the reprimand. You lose to this character, it's irreversible. Also, I cannot call him Pramad because that presumes he's a bad character and much more. As the bracelet falling today showed, her relationship with Saras will break and get re-attached later. So what comes in between? This marriage. They have to go along with the book at some point. They have already derailed too much.
Also Saras "did" a lot more without any romance showing up on screen same a few stares and hugs. Sanjay is capable of writing and supervising better romance scenes but as we know he is only licensing his name and the writers these days are rehashing scenes from his movie. The romance is lacking in execution. It doesn't mean they have to be explicit but they have to have better written words.
Being from a classic like this and a man like SLB, I do have high standards for this show. But these days they are operating like any other soap. That is disappointing. There was a time this show was so good I would watch it numerous times a day. If you admit it to yourself, you will also see that THAT kind of material hasn't been delivered in a while.
