It's got better feedback than Barfi from the industry and critics.

So it has chances

Let see the response of BMB or a regional film might be better than this

Only this film will able to compete with Lootera if it is good, other are BO type film next half of the year

If the movie is actually as good as the pre release buzz and turns out to be the best film of 2013, then it should be sent to the Oscars. I think it would be interesting for the Academy to watch an Indian interpretation of O Henry's work.😊

^^^BMB has a better chance.selectors would like the world to know about Dharti putar,flying Sikh Milkha Singh,plus it has Pakistan angle,partition etc..

Lootera is partly based on the last leaf..Had it been entirely based on it..or had an original story,it stood a better chance..

& sending it to the Oscars is not gonna help Phantom/Balaji to rake in more moolah. Kyun ki Oscars abhi dur hai.

Besides, to amend their last year's fiasco, the sleeping beauties (Oscars Committee) would send a regional movie to the Oscars this year. Doesn't matter Lootera is better than Barfi! or not.
