Hi Vicky,

A beautiful essay as always! 😊

Yesterdays episode was very symbolic. I wasnt disappointed at all...It highlighted how far the Asad -Zoya connection has evolved. Asad so does want to be with Zoya and if he cant, he can at least share her pain! Also, his character has evolved that he is consciously respecting her wishes... I loved it that he didnt take her to the Khan villa and respected her wishes... He was asked to leave the madrassa but chose to spend the night in the car... The wall scene was for him - to get to see her, feel a bit useful...It was also symbolic - the distances/ wall that Tanveer has constructed in between them, Asad shall be the one to break it down. I thought it foreshadows the reconciliation we may see in Ajmer?

I dont have anything else to say about Asad and Zoya - as you have summed it up so beautifully. 😊

LOL Vicky your PS had me howling in laughter!!

Asad and Zoya's story has gained a tempo that it did not have before. Asad's selflessness in today's episode was just beautiful to watch. This is what we wanted to see and boy are we getting it. It doesn't help that KSG's portrayal makes you want to bawl your eyes out or SJ's quiet suffering makes your heart clench painfully.

Tanveer is getting desperate and in her desperation she seems to have lost focus on what she really needs to do. Zoya was no where near Asad. Tanveer didn't have to bury her in a wall. From a narrative stand point, I just can't see what Tanveer gained by doing this. Her time would have been better spent with her trying to figure out how best to drop her dupatta to seduce Asad out of his misery. (yes folks I am being sarcastic)

The unshakable and unbreakable bond with AsYa is setting the story up for everything to unravel. Harini and Sangeeta I am sure will disagree with me here but I'll post my interpretation of the symbolisms anyway...for debate (lol!)

Symbolisms:

1. Asad breaking down the wall to fight for Zoya. This one is fairly obvious but Asad will always break barriers to be Zoe's protector.

2. The hand holding scene and the gentle untangling of it - to me this represents a time in the future when Asad will gently let Zoya go to figure out her father. He will not put her in the position to choose between her love and the father she has searched for. It will be another supreme act of selflessness.

3. Humeira's DID. Many think it's paving the way for Zoyaan but I don't see it that way. I think this is the start of Ayaan's redemption. Ayaan's penance may be looking after Humeira and bringing the girl he and everyone else once knew back. The AsYa and AyRa stories have always run in parallel so that's my explanation for it.

4. Tanveer's unfocussed and delusional behaviour - this will lead her to miscalculate and follow Asad to Ajmer which leads to the revelation of the truth about the SR, i.e, Tanveer will basically end up screwing herself.

What do you think Vic?

Even when she had no idea that she was falling in love with Asad, Zoe believed that she need not worry about anything as long as Asad is there- " I always draw strength from you. I look at you and i feel that i must trust the belief that i don't have to worry about anything. You are right next to me and you will take care of everything. ( Coffee& Cookies Scene ).

Asad was the first one to ask her - Are you ok?, when he almost ran her down with his car. He was the first one to offer help when Zoe hit a flower wheeler. He was the one to put her in the Akram fiasco and pull her out too. He sat by her side until she fell asleep. He saved her from the Mangalpur Nikaah. He saved her from an alive burial in Mangalpur. He saved her from being deported to NY. He saved her from being electrocuted. He saved her from the goons one dark night. He stood by her during the Ghaffur-phase. He saved her from a life she didn't want by proposing marriage to her. And today, he saved her from a possible death once again. All this and so much more. Not to show you that 'oh-how-heroic-Asad-is' or 'how-helpless-our-Zoe-is'. This is to show you that Asad is her missing half, her soulmate - who with her or not with her, in love, in hatred, in separation, in union - he is always Zoe's saviour and not because he is some kind of a superhero. Its because his love and his connection with Zoe makes him Zoe's hero. The home she has looked for all her life- Asad.

Asad is a self-loathing , self-proclaimed criminal whose head is hung in such shame and guilt that he cannot even enforce his will to see Zoe once. There is a wall between them - engineered by Tanveer and put to test by destiny - but that wall does not change how they are equated or connected to each-other. If Zoe does not eat and Asad knows it, how can morsels go down his food pipe. If she sleeps on the floor, how can he sleep on feathers ( its immaterial though. Asad has not slept since Zoe has gone ). If that Madarsa is her home, then, how can he not be a part of what she is trying to better? Hunger, a floor mat , a donation of 10lacs and repeated visits - just so that he can be in the same vein as Zoe , if he cannot be with her.

Destiny has everything mapped out as per the story. Asad's feeble request to see Zoe was instantly rejected. Twice. There is no way Asad could have seen, touched or been with Zoe if Zoe was not lying buried in that wall. He wanted to see her once and he did. Out of nowhere , his feet took him towards the Madarsa's interiors , almost guided by the hand of destiny - he saw the engagement ring- the symbol of their love , he heard her semi-conscious sobs , broke the wall down and he not only saved her - his wish was granted and he met Zoe. That is the honest intensity of his love for Zoe - so much so that destiny gave him what he wished for so desperately. Asad got to sit by Zoe's side, hold her hand and do nothing - just watch her. And this would have never happened in Zoe's senses.

As for Zoe, even in her unconscious state, her heart knew that the hand in her hand is the one that she must hold on to. Asad was told to leave the premises immediately but Zoe's heart wouldn't let him go. She was sleeping. Holding his hand. Holding on to her internal faith that no matter what happens, Asad is gonna be right next to her - and that means she will be safe. Always. And I think Asad also understood that when he gently disengaged her hand and left the premises... only to wallow in emotional frustration outside the gates.

It doesn't matter what Zoe has written in that letter or how destroyed Asad looks in the precap. Its not Asad and Zoe at work. Its the hand of destiny. First, Zoe was guided to Asad's world and now, Asad will be guided to his Zoe.

For the rest, Tanveer has never used a plan - she has always relied on extreme back-up plans. She puts her psychotic instincts to work. Not her brain. She feels that killing Zoe will mean that Asad will become a sale-able apple crate. Over confidence in self and the rise-graph of her time. But Tannu, check your watch - maybe , its no longer your time.

Humeira has turned the entire Siddiqui household into a labyrinth and i want to know the mystery of Rajni Shukla.

Its not that Dilshoo was not moved by Asad's pain. Its just that Asad has shut her out because he wants to suffer on his own. He seeks no emotional or psychological support. Even if Dilshoo knocked again and again, Asad won't say that he is with Zoe - in suffering.

Asad was never a hero. He isn't. But he was always Zoe's hero. He still is. He may have been the biggest jackass Zoe ever met. Yet, he is the only one who was with her - in the sun, in the rain, in the winter. Whether Asad and Zoe are together or not, hopefully, there is one clause of faith that Asad will never break - of being right next to her and saving her from the winter she fears.

P.S- The wall scene needed better execution and the problem arose from the location of the facade wall. Still, it was saved at the screenplay and acting level. Amrapali has gained weight and what was that weird make up patch on her neck? Lot of time with hubbykins?😉😆

Wow wow wow...Loved ur analysis...though the scenes were not upto the mark maybe diverting us for something big...or dragging for something big...

Ur asya togetherness and made for each other made me smile a bit...thank you..

Beautiful post. I have lots to say, but my head hurts from the logic I am trying to find in this story narration now. So, I wont say anything. I will just say that KSG acted brilliantly and Asad's love has risen to the level of a silent ibaadat. I wish the road to this level was sans Tanveer, because I always wanted to see it... That would have made this more natural... It hurts that Tanveer still shares the dining table etc. etc. But I will leave that all for now. I am just happy they showed Asad love Zoya to that extreme, and that his love touched the level of selflessness...even before a confession.

Asad does stay outside the Madrasa. In the precap you can tell from his clothes (Same dress) and his dishevelled state...He probably just fell asleep in the car and zoya left before he woke up...I hope Zoya finds out that Asad stayed there all night...
