Back to Square one?
The cold fury was almost palpable in the air of Chander Mahal as the righteousness fought gallantly with the satanic soul. Mohan quivered as Maan stood before him, towering, brave and furious. His soulful chocolate eyes seemed like melting pits of boiling lava. His smoldering gaze was too much to bear for a coward, despicable man like Mohinder Handa, who didn't have the eyes to meet the ones of Maan.
For the one who had grown up with someone as pure as Geet, standing in the mere presence of such filth was intolerable. The air around was stinking with the overwhelming stench that was Mohan. Maan couldn't digest that the person who destroyed his whole childhood was right there, in front of him, yet, he couldn't do anything vindictive to him. All Maan wanted to do was hit Mohan so badly that he himself couldn't recognize him. But he had to control. He had come here with a purpose and didn't want to detour until his intention was fulfilled. Hence, taking great control over himself and hoping terribly that this would get over soon; he gritted his teeth and asked in a steely voice, "Where is geet?"
Mohan blinked his eyes. For a moment everything seemed disoriented. But slowly, his cruelty crept back in as he realized the loophole in the enormous strength of the person standing before him. No matter how strong Maan was, he had one weakness that could shatter the whole foundation of courage and bravery he poised. Mohinder chuckled before he let out, "Don't you know? you are supposed to be very shrewd!"
"Don't act smart, Mohan! It doesn't suit you!" Maan seethed as he understood where Mohan was heading to, "bol Geet kaha hai!"
"Bol?" Mohan muttered furiously, "boliye maalik! Did you forget everything?"
"That was chintu who used to address you as malik…" said Maan, crossing his arms over his chest, "Maan Singh Khurana is not a servant of you. He is the boss. Now! tell me where is Geet else I might even strangle you and strangely, I wouldn't feel any remorse…"
"You are not going to find her," Mohan smirked, "she has gone too far from you…"
Maan stopped for a second. He eyed Mohan in such a rage that Mohan looked away in a different direction, unable to handle that anger. He waited for Mohan to speak while he stood there smoldering.
"Geet isn't here…" Mohan continued, now looking at the portrait of his father that hung on the wall in the drawing room, "she has gone…"
"Where has she gone?" Maan asked coldly, not wanting to make any advances that would make Mohan mutter nonsense, "tell me, where she has gone?"
"Give me the respect," Mohan muttered angrily, "come and fall at my feet then I will tell you where Geet is…"
"This isn't the time to play games with me, Mohan!" said Maan in a feral rage, "just tell me where she is or you will regret even living to this age. You are not fit to take on me… if you truly want to be alive just answer my question."
"I said fall at my feet and ask…" Mohan barked looking at Maan, "or else…" but before he could continue, he felt his back strike the huge stone pillar. Pain shot up through him, momentarily paralyzing him and with great difficulty, he looked up to see him face to face with Maan, who had pinned him to the pillar, with his other hand cuffing his throat, threatening to barricade the smooth flow of air. He spluttered, struggling to get out of the vicar grip of Maan, desperate to cling on to his sorry life.
"I told you, this isn't the time to play games with me," Maan muttered dangerously as he held Mohan's throat tightly, "you are a swine and you have no strength to take on me. But you don't listen, do you? I am giving you a last chance. Just tell me where Geet is else I am going to kill you with my bare hands!"
"Geet is dead!" Mohan spluttered, "She is not alive!" and that one sentence closed in on Maan like a noose, constricting him, pushing him into an abyss as he felt all his confidence, power and nerve crumbling to pieces.
