There may be one or two things that take place coincidentally but certainly not as many instances as the recently married Roshni Chopra discovered between her husband Siddharth Anand Kumar and her life.
"To begin with we've just learnt that both of us were brought into this world by the same doctor in the same nursing home. We went to the same school in Delhi. The pandit who got us married was from my parents' side but when he came to the mandap, he happened to be the same pandit who has been performing Sidharth's birthday archanas and other pujas at their place for years." It's not just that, but even the grandparents of both Roshni and Siddharth live in the same street.
Same street, same school—does that mean they have known each other since childhood? "No," informs Roshni, "it was only seven years ago when we worked as colleagues doing theatre that we came to know each other. But I guess destiny had plastered it all over the place that we would meet and get married," laughs Roshni, who's popular as Pia of Kasamh Se.
Sidharth who was earlier based Delhi, has shifted to Mumbai and is a film-maker and TV serial director with Pyaar Vyaar on MTV and Jab Love Hua to his credit. He will very soon be directing a violent love story for television. And will Roshni be a part of it, to which she replies, "I have no idea about it. Let's wait and watch."
Given that she also anchors a music show and a sports-related show she has little time for anything else, she says, "My husband is taking care of me instead of it being the other way round. I plunged into work immediately after marriage, doing 16-hour schedules."
Will she go in for a change of surname? "No change of surname for me as Siddharth feels he has married me as Roshni Chopra and it should remain that way!" says Roshni.
