Smilie will soon exit Ekta's Jodha Akbar

What could've been a perfect small-screen debut for film director Mohit Suri's sister Smilie hasn't turned out as expected. The actress, who is shooting for Jodha Akbar as Ruqaiya Begum, will soon exit the show. If rumours are to be believed, actress Shikha Singh has been approached to step into her shoes.

Sources close to the actress say that she is being replaced for looking "too young and innocent for the mean woman she is supposed to portray on screen". However, producer Ekta Kapoor denies it, "I'm trying to convince Smilie to continue, but travelling to Karjat (where the shoot is taking place) is becoming tough for her. I have approached no one else. As for her looking younger, I am yet to see even one scene. But I've taken a commitment from her that she will do my next if it's situated in Mumbai."

Whatever the real reason for Smilie's exit, the viewers will get to see a glimpse of her in the show. The portions she has already shot for, will be aired soon.
