An Article in Akhbar-e-Jahan!(Saroj)

Hey Guys! How are You all??I hope U are Enjoying urselves very much.

OK so there is an Interview for all of U.offcourse there is Master Jee's Interview,I hope that now this Clue U have come to know Whom am I talking about?Yes I'm talking about Saroj Khan.In Her Interview in Akhab-e- Jahan she said,

"Shukar hai 'Umrao Jaan' ki Choreography nahi ki"

A very talanted Choreographer Saroj Khan said in an Interview that Thank God k main ney 'Umrao Jaan' ki Choreography nahi ki.She said I signed the film but when I heard the Songs of the Film I refused to do Choreography of 'Umrao Jaan'.She also said that I and J.P Dutta are old friends but......I have some objections on Anu Malik's Music.Therefore,I said that i cant work by Heart because i don't like the Music.

good that she said it so clearly that she doesnt like the music 😊 i saw anu malik in an interview claiming umrao jaan's music to be a landmark in his career 😕 - i don like it either...

Yes, thats what was wrong with Umrao Jaan - the music and choreography.I wish they had a better music director and had Saroj Khan as choreographer. It would have made a world of difference.

There were many things wrong with the movie, but one itential things was wrong are music and choregraphy... Ash did not have that Ada and nazatak that Rekha had. Her body language and epresions were not that great. In the old movie, Farukh Seth felt in love with Rekha's soul, heart, poetry, and her mind. Where as in the new movie, Abhishek fell in love with her beauty only. They did not show the depth and emotions of their love, but it seemed more of a lustful act.

During the fourth or third round when Saroj ji danced to Dil Cheeze kaya hai, she showed some great expressions, on her face, and body language. She portrayed the song so well.

Exactly. If the choreographer had showed all the najakat's and aada - I am sure Ash could have carried it off well. Thats the choreo's job. As you rightfully said Saroj Khan showed some great expressions for Dil Cheez in NB2. She could have easily taught Ash all the Najakats and Ada of a courtesan.

I have not seen Rekha's Umrao Jaaan so cannot comment on the love aspect of the two characters and how it is portrayed in old and new movie.
