well first of all thank you for proving my point. The guy was older and not the girl. I want you to tell me about a marriage where a girl has been older. and the marriage has been a success. question for you are all those girls you know from Canada, is even one from India? I think that in a majority of the cases, the guy is older and girls do get married pretty young, but there are a few, very few exceptions.

there is no way to get rid of Dowry, heck it exists all over the world. Except in other part of the world the call dowry, a gifts/ presents. In India we are straight forward and just call it what it is. I think the real culprits are the people that make a big deal about dowry and try to out do each other and in the process ruin many lifes.

there actually are many marriages where the wife is older, my cuzin for example. he got married two years ago when he was 24 years old and my bhabi was 26 at the time. there, an example of a couple where the girl is older. (btw they are both from canada)

my cousin from india married a girl from india, the girl was older by a few years, this was back in 1995. those two are happliy married today living in canada, they have 2 kids a boy and a girl. she is older then him by ATLEAST 5 years, perhaps more. i can ask them for you if you wanna know the exact difference😆. oh and what i meant by my cousin being 30 years and his wife being 27 years is that people are getting married at older ages. you said most girls get married in the early 20's, but i'd say its more like mid to late 20's.

gifts and dowry are different. dowry can mean that without it the marriage won't happen. the same not true for gifts. i agree that people who make dowry a big deal are a big problem.
