Even though Ovi is shown to be spoiled and irritating, she could have calmed down and eventually accepted Arjun and Purvi's marriage if Purvi had not taken the hasty decision to force Arjun to marry Ovi.
Ovi did not force Arjun to marry her, Purvi did.
One can understand that it is hard to forget one's true love. But there is something called responsible behavior. Who said life is a bed of roses? Once Arjun and Purvi took this decision (in Arjun's case because of pressure from his beloved), then it is only ethical to follow through with it. Arjun made it obvious to Ovi that he did not love her at all. Ovi was consistently reminded that she was the unwanted wife.
Then Purvi made a choice to marry Onir. But again, never accepted him as her husband. How is this ethical? Pre-marital pregnancy or not, there is also the question of the dignity and self-esteem of Ovi and Onir.
Granted that this is the world of soap opera, but in that case, why bring in the theme of great values at all? If the story claims to be about sacredness of relationships as the title suggests, then this is completely contradictory.
The original post is right on the mark in saying that it is not the CVs but the audience response running the show.
