I have been busy. But it doesn't look like I missed much. Was trying to keep away from the debate of actors who don't know reel from real. At last, that part is over. Overcompensating with suffocating love is so passe. Will keep it at that and move on...

Firstly, had high hopes for last week. Even though there was the question of taking too much liberty with a classic all about celibacy, we were excited about the pundit becoming a paapi 😆. And what did we get after all that hype? Cautious Victorian "love scene ." Tastefully done? NOT. Totally avoided? YES! 😆 Seriously CVs, don't compromise your show just because a few unrelated actors and conservative audiences object. That was a very deflating week and the TRPs reflected it. Half baked stuff get half baked results.

I am the biggest supporter of this show and really loved that for the first time SLB was coming to TV with intelligent, historical love drama. But it seems he has only licensed his name! Because what we have seen in the past few weeks is definitely not SLB quality. Either that or SLB has lost his magic touch. That proposal scene for example...tried so hard to like it because Gautam tried so hard to put passion in it. But the dialogues were nothing more than a bad writer's regurgitation of everything that happened in the show so far. We know what happened! Concentrate on the romance, the proposal never-seen-before! Don't assume the audience is so stupid that they have to be spoon-fed everything. Give us some credit. That was word-vomit 🤢 even if Gautam tried so hard to save you. Yes, yes, saying everything is TV medium but it is tedious and unnecessary! After all the type of writing the unique proposal, you wrote none at all.

Since the dramatic shift to increase TRPs, you have been insecure about the flow of the writing and thinking summarizing everything will make it seem less drastic, but that is not true! Ridiculous dramas with no logic and super villains are doing well yes, but nothing beats good writing. You keep the flow with good writing and you win with a Downton Abbey is a world of silly vampire series and reality TV. Art! Aim at art. You are trying to stoop to that for TRPs when you really just need to concentrate hard on writing well and rising above the other shows and bad TRPs.

Here are some places to concentrate where you have been falling short. A story moves with everyone not just one character:

This is not a dukhba-and-hubby show, or did we get the wrong memo?

Where is the grandpa?

Kumari is cute but why is nothing ever happening with Kussum? That actress is underutilized.

Why is nothing going on with Sunny?

Why has Gyan and wife had no scope since the beginning of this show!? They are both great actors.

WHY DID THE REAL VIDYACHATTUR LEAVE? He was the life of the show and he has left a gap that you will not refill unless you bring him back! The new guy has none of his charm is looks very ill-at-ease, rightly.

Why is Danny in London when Harvard is in Boston, MA, US of A? Guman is always saying he's in London when he is said to be at Harvard.

Get your act together CVs, this show had a good start but it will die a painfully slow death if you go on like this. You have loyal fans here yes, we like everything you do but this is not the real audience. These are people who love the show so much they come to the forum to comment.

You don't have a cult following that keeps a show with average TRP going. So either get that following with good writing or get a good TRP WITH GOOD WRITING.

Mary, I agree with your post. Although, I personally liked Saras' proposal... just because it was just a nice sum up of his character development and how Kumud was the hand behind that. (After all, this show is about him right? So I found it fitting for the proposal to be about how he's developed as an individual because of Kumud) I find that the rest of your post is very apt.

Yes, the logic ki baat here is lacking. Immensely. I feel like the plot is just way too scattered these days. It's like I don't know what's going on anymore, because there are too many stories being intertwined into one, each lacking consistency and rhythm, with each competing for the main stage within the show (referring to Dukhbaa/Guman, Kumari/Dad, Kumari/Umesh, Dukhbaa/Kumari etc and Saras/Kumud)
I really feel that once these sub-stories within one are back in check as they were beautifully balanced in March/April, the consistency and the real, unique feel of this show will return. Right now, I can commend Gautam Rode and Jennifer Singh Grover with their very flawless acting, however, the actors can only do so much to cover for an inconsistent story.

The PMS track first of all, started and ended in a whir, taking along with it, the three months of Kumud's characterization we got to witness. Indeed, the CVs created too much of a rift between the night and day after (I wasn't the only one who was confused about Kumud crying uncontrollably) but they amended this through Saras defending Kumud in front of Guman for the first time. I feel like each track really needs to be developed. I remember the Gau Hatya track took a solid two or three weeks. These days, each track is being overtaken by a new one and it just seems really messy. I can't figure it out.

There are little annoying loopholes that really aren't being tied into lovely bows as they were before... Some tracks are just sitting there without budging, some are going too fast, and some are being unexplored completely... and I think that's what's annoying us viewers as a whole, and affecting TRPs. With a steady and damaakedaar, balanced story come amazing TRPs.

All in all, I'm glad we have such a post. I really hope the CVs realize that they're very talented. It's a given, considering how well they were writing just a few weeks ago. They just need to be confident of their talent and continue writing the amazing stuff that they were before... the TRPs will come alongside the good storyline and the already amazing cast we have.

OK so i agree with ur post at various points :)

First thing is that i was actually not happy with the way they showed the conssumation scene, well actually they didnt show the scene only :) They could have shown the scene keeping the dignity and purity of indian television intact, but idk after all the media hype and everything, the scene already lost its essence🥱. Then kumud's character was not justified, why was she crying like a crazy when she ended up loving him, in her full sense, she was concsious right? so why the drama -_-

The proposal scene was very good, the way he proposed her in front of her family, and kept all the points and made them very clear, that looked really hoest and pure, i was very happy with this gesture of his <33😳

Thirdly ghuman is not used properly, she is just made to play hide and seek😆, like seriously, make her use some of her brain cells and do some nautanki, so that we get to see more drama and help the aunties to be hooked to the show :) All her tactics are failing and she hasnt created any drama till now -_-

Sunny brought a new refreshment in the show, but now he gets no scenes -_- kusum is not used properly, the drama is shifting to kumari and her BF along with her bapu. The story is getting quite predictable, like we know that after meeting her bapu, she is gonna hate dukhbaa :(

Scenes are not properly completed, the leads have a very good chemistry but they are not used properly, there was a time in the start of the show, when the leads didnt even see each other but still u could feel the chemistry, but they are very good performers, so i have no problem with there personal efforts :)

I hope seperation helps in getting TRP's and every other scene is given proper weightage. I am a fan of this show and will always be, it can be an epic love story, if only they improve in some feilds. Okay i m done :)

Bang on, Mary!

Besides the proposal issue, which I liked, I agree with your points. How I wish CVs could get to see or read this post!

hi mary, nice to hear from u after a long time! indeed a much needed post..u have already said so much..i agree with u on most of them except for the proposal scene, i actually quite liked it! the pms scene could have been better shown..i did not expect much but whatever close scenes they had shown so far, this should have been a step up from them..what led kumud to take such a bold step was half baked and disconnected...

what i have noticed is that the consistency of the episodes is not even, one day they show such a good episode the next day is a disaster! seems like they r not getting enough time to shoot and finish their after work which takes the longest..again the whole team has to be more organized!

the most important thing is that more focus should be on saras and kumud and their romance, the rest of the tracks should not be the main focus of any episode but they can be shown along with samud scenes..

and then last but not the least, the ph, the cvz, in short the employer of the show should decide what is good for the show, what he wants to be shown and how..and not the actors or any other source should decide how and what should be done..after all at the end if viewers are not happy who will be at loss! the employer! the person who is investing his money to gain profits and not to satisfy someone who will not bear the losses if the show is at a loss!

i really hope that the show gets back on track, like it was in the beginning and becomes captivating and attracts more viewers!

Great post!. Agree with everything except the bit about the proposal scene. I actually liked it because it redeemed Saras from having publicly rejecting Kumud.

Also, there seems to be a disconnect between Saras/Kumud in their scenes this week. The one where he is stopping her from going and the one today when she gets of the bus to speak to him.

This is a brilliant team - hopefully they will not allow the pressures of TRP, the channel, the actors and the viewers from doing their job.

@OP - A+
The dialogues lately have become too cringey for me to even watch this show. Not a fan of cheese. Anyway, hopefully it'll change in future and there'll be real drama ahead instead of forced melodrama like the VC-LN fight. 🤢
