ArshiTS: Woh Peheli Bar Jab Hum Mile Epilogue Pg30

Sheesh Mahal was spruced up magnificently. India's no.1 fashion house AR Fashions was holding its best show there. Paparazzi were crowding the entrance gate of Sheesh Mahal waiting for India's most charming and hottest bachelor; the owner of AR fashions Arnav Singh Raizada to arrive. They see a black limousine making its way down the road. They all were left mesmerised with his grand entrance to Sheesh Mahal. They all had followed the car into the gates to get a glimpse of ASR but they were blocked by the bodyguards. But they still tried by yelling his name out and asking him questions either about the show or about AR Fashions or about his personal life. But ASR stood there with all his charm and aura oblivious to all the commotion made by the media behind him. His secretary cum best friend, Aman who was standing at the entrance of the Mahal for his arrival walks towards him and greets him.

Aman: Hi ASR!

Arnav: Hi! The Mahal looks very grand. Well done Aman!

Aman: Thanks ASR!

Arnav: Are the other arrangements done?

Aman: Yes! Only few final check-ups are needed and we are good to go!

Arnav: Well let's get that done then!

Aman: Ya sure!

They walk to the back courtyard of the Mahal where the show would be held to look at the final arrangements.

Meanwhile in the greenroom all the models were getting ready for the show, the show director was throwing orders to his assistants.
Freddy (show- director): Where is this girl? She should be here! SANDY come here now!!!
Sandy: Ya Freddy ... What is it?

Freddy: Where is Miss K! Shouldn't she be here?
Sandy: Well the thing is that Miss Kashyap is not here yet ... So...
Freddy: WHAT SHE IS NOT HERE! Oh God! Does she even remember that this is the ASR's show! If something goes wrong then he will cut my neck along with hers! She is the show stopper for god sake! Sandy call her now and ask where she is!
Sandy: Chill Freddy! That job is already done. She will be here any moment. Happiness is waiting for her at the entrance.
Freddy: Oh so that is where she is! Well tell them both to come and meet me once Miss Kashyap reaches!
Sandy: Ya sure!

Both of them walk off to do their respective tasks.

A girl in a white anarkali attached with pom poms on the sleeves and her hair braided to one side was pacing around the corridor outside the greenroom. She looked like an angel that had descended down from the heaven. It was none other than Khushi Kumari Gupta aka Miss K for Freddy or Happiness for her work colleagues. Suddenly she hears "Chamkili" and turns around to see Lavanya walking towards her ... Oh yes Khushi is Chamkilli for Lavanya ... She has always been since the first day they met each other at Freddy's office.

Khushi: Finally you are here!

Lavanya: Chill yaar why are you so worried?

Khushi: Chill??? How am I supposed to be chill when only an hour is left for the show to start and the show stopper just arrives! Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to avoid Freddy! What would have I told him when he would have asked me about your whereabouts? You know how easily he freaks out! Why can't you be a bit responsible Lavanya? Have you forgotten how important this show is for us?

Lavanya: Oh ho Chamkili ... I know this show is important! After all this is our first show; where you are going to be the back stage manager and I am going to be the show stopper.

Khushi: Exactly! And on top of it this it is AR Fashions Show! If something goes wrong then we are dead!

Lavanya: How can anything go wrong when K&K are together!

Khushi: K&K?

Lavanya: Yes K&K ... As in Miss K & Miss Kashyap! I got this new name on my way here. It sounds cool na?

Khushi: Hey Devi Maiya another name! How does your brain come up with all these names? I have such a good name "Khushi Kumari Gupta". But now instead of that name I have other weird names ... Chamkili, Happiness and Miss K!

Lavanya: You forgot one name ... Sanka Devi ... Remember Buaji calls you that!

Khushi: Shut up Lavanya! And tell me why you are late?

Lavanya: Well I was stuck in the traffic!

Khushi: I knew that would happen that is why I told you to leave early!

Lavanya: I did! But on my way I stopped at the temple!

Khushi: You stopped WHERE??? Hey Devi Maiya have I become deaf ... I am sure I did not hear that right!

Lavanya: Stop freaking out Chamkili! You heard it right ... I did stop at your Devi Maiya's temple! But just for you! Since you said that we would get more luck if we pray to her I thought I would do that since we do need luck for this show! It will set our career and life forever.

Khushi: Thankyou Devi Maiya! You finally put some sense into my friends head!

Lavanya: Ya whatever!

Khushi: Well let's talk later ... We need to go in! You need to start dressing up ASAP and I have to check on other models as well.

Lavanya: Ok let's go and rock this show!

The show had started; models were moving in and out of the green room. Lavanya was also ready and was waiting for her turn to come. Khushi and Freddy were also with her. The three of them were standing in front of a TV screen where the catwalk on the ramp was shown. Suddenly one of the models bumped into Lavanya and due to the sudden impact she fell as she lost her balance and cried in pain.

Lavanaya: Aaa

Khushi & Freddy: LAVANYA

Khushi: Lavanya are you ok?

Freddy: Did you hurt yourself!

Lavanya: I think I sprained my ankle! Aaa... it hurts!

Model: Oh My God ... I am so sorry!

Freddy: Can't you watch where you are going?

Khushi: Freddy relax! You go and get changed for your next walk!

Model: Ok! Lavanya I am sorry again!

Lavanya: It's ok!

The model walked off to get changed into her next dress.

Khushi: Lavanya come on get up!

Lavanya: No Chamkili I don't think I can stand!

Freddy: WHAT??? How can you say that ... You have to be on the ramp soon!

Khushi: Lavanya just try! It will hurt a bit but I will give you pain killers. You will be fine! Now come on just try to stand. We will help you!

With the help of Khushi and Freddy Lavanya stood up but she was still crying in pain. They took her to nearest seat and Khushi looked at her sprained feat. Even Sandy joined them now and Khushi asked her to get the first aid box.

Freddy: Her leg has swollen up. How will she walk on the ramp now?

Lavanya (with tears in her eyes): I don't think I can walk Freddy!

Khushi: No Lavanya don't say that! Here have this pain killer ... It will reduce your pain and swelling. Your turn is another half hour away ... You will be fine till then. We will call the doctor and he can check on you while you are waiting.

Lavanya: No Chamkili I don't think so! Look at my feet it looks like an elephant's leg now.

Freddy: I think you are right Lavanya! I don't think she will be able to walk on the ramp. At least not without a limp!

Khushi: Then what do we do? Should we ask one of the other models to take her place?

Sandy: No Happiness we can't do that they all are needed for the final walk.

Khushi: But Sandy we can't arrange for another model at such short notice!

Freddy: I have an idea!

Khushi: Really? What is it?

Freddy: You do it Miss K!

Khushi: WHAT??? NO WAY!!!

Freddy: Why not?

Khushi: How can you ask me that Freddy! You know I have never walked on a ramp before. Then how can I now? That all so for such a big show as a show stopper. No I can't do it!

Freddy: I thought you always dreamt of being a successful model! Then now when you are getting such a golden chance on walking on the biggest ramp why are you denying it?

Khushi: Yes you are right ... But before that I wanted to learn what happens behind the ramp! And that is why I am here now!

Freddy: You have already learnt that ... if not I would not have made you the backstage manager. Now it's time for you to become what you have dreamt off.

Lavanya: Chamkili ... Freddy is right! You should do it!

Khushi: But I have no experience of walking on the ramp!

Freddy: This is how you gain experience. And you have watched models do it! No one better than you can take Lavanya's place tonight! You were with Lavanya throughout her ramp rehearsals ... You know the moves and the positions where she needs to pose.

Lavanya: Ya Chamkili ... You can do it!

Sandy: And if you want I can tell you the positions! Even I am sure that you can do it!

Khushi: But what if something goes wrong?

Lavanya: How can something go wrong? Remember I told you when K&K are together nothing can go wrong. I am there with you. I and Sandy will explain to you everything again even though I doubt you would need it since I am sure you remember all the moves and positions.

Freddy: Miss K keep confidence in yourself coz we all have confidence in you. We know you can do this!

Khushi: Ok Fine if you all say so!

Lavanya: Now that's more like my Chamkili! Now come on help me get up so that I can go change into my other dress and give this to you! There is hardly 15 mins left for you to enter the stage. And Sandy while I am changing, you help Khushi with her make up.

Sandy: Ya sure!

Freddy: Well get going Girls! I will be right here ... Call me if you need anything!

Lavanya got up with the help of Khushi and Sandy this time and all the three left for the change room.

Khushi was nervous while waiting for her turn to walk on the ramp. She was wearing a light green lehenga with pink border and a cream coloured duppatta with sequins. She had worn the duppatta as a ghunghat and it was flowing down touching the floor. Her hair was braided to the side as usual and she had only minimal make up. Beautiful would be an understatement to describe her ... She looked splendid. It was like the dress was just made for her.

Only one more minute was left for her to enter the ramp. Then all the lights would focus on her; everyone in the audience would be watching her and cameras would be flashing on her.

Khushi: Hey Devi Maiya Raksha Karna!

The lights focused on her and Khushi stepped forward but when she saw the camera flashes she got more nervous and froze in that spot. She closed her eyes and remembered about the confidence Lavanya, Freddy and Sandy had on her. She had to do this for them. She opened her eyes but this time with more confidence. She kept her head up and looked straight with a small smile and started walking without swaying her hands much. It just looked like a professional trained model was walking down the ramp. No one could say that it was her first ramp walk. All the eyes at the audience including the pair of hazel brown eyes of Arnav Singh Raizada were looking at her with an awe expression. It looked like everyone had lost their breath looking at the beauty in front of them ... Everyone were mesmerised with her beauty. She walked till the end of the ramp and posed for the cameras for a while and then turned back. She kept walking back until she reached the centre of the ramp and then turned to the front once again and posed there for a while.

When she was turning back again, her eyes met with Arnav's. She saw his curious eyes and her nervousness came back. She had recognised him as the owner of AR Fashions. Even though she had not seen him before she had heard that he was a ruthless arrogant man. Everyone at office calls him Rakshas secretly. She turned back quickly to avoid his prying eyes but she stepped on her long flowing ghunghat and lost her balance and fell. Luckily two arms were there to catch her immediately.

Arnav had become lost in her beauty the moment she had entered the ramp. But soon he had realised that she was wearing the show stopper dress and got confused since this was not the same face as the one he had seen in the photo. Aman had showed him a different girl's picture. He had looked at Aman immediately and when he saw the confused expression on his face he understood that something had gone wrong somewhere and that the girl standing here is not the show stopper that was selected. He was completely confused. When he looked back at her, her eyes were closed and he understood that she was nervous. But when he saw the confidence in her eyes after she had opened them and the way she walked down and posed in front of the cameras impressed him. He kept looking at her curiously and was trying to figure out what would have gone wrong at the back stage. Suddenly her eyes met his and again he became lost in her but this time also his trance broke soon when he saw her falling down. He immediately moved forward to catch her.

Khushi was in Arnav's arms and they both were lost in each other. They both were in their own world for a few minutes until they heard people around them murmuring. Even though they both were lost in each other for only few minutes, for them that moment lasted forever. Khushi averted her eyes from Arnav's and tried to pull away from him but his hold on her was too strong. She looked back at him and asked him to leave her through her eyes. As if understanding her request he placed her down but he held her hand firmly. He moved closed to her and asked her huskily "Tum Theek Ho?"

Khushi was confused with his question and stared back at him blankly. Since Arnav did not get any response back he nudged her and asked her again. And this time he was successful in getting a reply back even though she still looked confused -

Khushi: Haan!

Arnav: Come let's go!

Khushi: Huh?

Arnav: Chalo and SMILE!

Arnav started walking towards the ramp pulling Khushi along with him. No one in the audience could understand that all this was an accident ... For them it looked like a well-planned act. After all ASR and his shows have always been full of surprises!

Once they reached the ramp and turned towards the audience all the models came to the ramp one by one and took their final positions. During all this he was still holding her hands and she was standing next to him all confused but with a smile on her face as he had asked. After all the models were on the ramp, Aman came with a mike and gave it to Arnav.

Arnav: Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you for coming to AR Fashions Biggest Show of the year 'Dulhan Exquisites'. As you have seen this is our special bridal collection. I hope you enjoyed our collection. Thanks once again for coming.

Arnav gave the mike back to Aman and stood closer to Khushi and whispered "Keep smiling ... We have to pose for few photos!" Khushi nodded slightly in response and then they both turned towards the cameras. They both stood there for a while and then turned back and started walking to the back followed by Aman. Even the other models followed them back in a row.

Arnav left Khushi's hand the moment they entered the green room and moved towards Freddy. Along with Lavanya and Sandy, Freddy had seen all that had happened on the ramp via the TV in the green room. All the three were shocked and surprised with the happenings but were glad that ASR handled it well.

Arnav: Freddy you better have an explanation!

Freddy: I do ASR!

Freddy told him how Lavanya injured her leg and the only option left was for Khushi to take Lavanya's place.

Arnav: So you are telling me that the only option you had was to make the back stage manager the show stopper? How could you take such a big risk without consulting me or Aman?

Freddy: I am sorry about that ASR! We did not have much time to consult. We had to do something immediately and I had full confidence in Miss K that she would be able to do it.

Arnav (sarcastically): Ya I saw what she was able to do!

Freddy: She was doing perfectly fine until she lost balance. Such situations do happen in a fashion shows' ASR!

Arnav: They might happen in other shows but not in my shows Freddy! If I was not there to handle this then the whole show would have become a flop. AR's reputation would have been at stake. You could have at least let Aman know about this change.

Freddy: I am Sorry about it ASR! I will see to it that this won't happen again.

Arnav: You better...

But before he could say another word Aman interrupted him -

Aman: ASR it's time for the press conference! We should leave now!

Arnav: Hmmm ... Let's Go!

Without saying another word he turned around to leave the green room but before that he glanced at Khushi who was standing at corner silently with tears in her eyes. Arnav felt like his heart had stopped beating when he saw the tears but he ignored that feeling and walked away.

The moment Arnav and Aman had left the green room; Khushi went running to Lavanya and hugged her while crying.

Lavanya: It's ok Chamkili! Stop crying! It was not your fault!

Khushi: I told you I couldn't do this! Now see what has happened!

Lavanya: Nothing has happened! You just fell from the ramp. It was your first time! Sometimes such things happen. It happened to me as well remember.

Khushi: Ya but you fell during your practice session!

Freddy: Miss K you did very well for your first time. You left the audience in awe. The way you were walking did not even show that it was your first time. Stop crying dear.

Lavanya: Chamkili can you tell me what happened there that you lost your balance? You were doing so well till then.

Khushi: I saw that Rakshas's face!

Sandy: You mean ASR's face?

Khushi: Hmmm! The way he was looking at me scared me. So I turned quickly but I stepped on the ghunghat and lost balance.

Lavanya: It's ok Chamkili! Now stop crying! What's over is over!

Khushi: But What if I will lose my job? You very well know he is capable of that! If he does that then how will I treat babuji? How will the home expenses be paid?

Freddy: You will not lose your job Miss K! Don't worry about it! If he wanted to do anything like that then he would have done that the moment you fell. He would not have wait for so long!

Khushi: But that is because he did not want to ruin his reputation.

Freddy: We are talking about ASR here ... He very well knows how to handle situations. If his reputation is lost then he very well knows how to get it back. And even if that is what stopped him from firing you then, he could have fired you after coming to the green room. And he did no such thing!

Sandy: Exactly! He did not even yell at you or stare at you coldly. Which is quite a surprising behaviour of his! Anyways you are worrying for nothing!

Khushi: Probably this is the silence before the storm!

Lavanya: Chamkili stop worrying! Let's wait and see what happens. We are there for you! If he has any plans of firing you then I am sure Freddy can talk him out of it! Right Freddy?

Freddy: Ya I will handle it Miss K! Please don't worry yourself so much!

Lavanya: Now forget about all this and go get changed! Sandy can you call a cab for us?

Sandy: Ya I will do that! In fact I will come with you guys to the hotel as well if it is ok with Freddy!

Freddy: Ya you can go Sandy! After all you girls have to catch the early flight back to Delhi. Go get some rest! I will do the pack up here!

Saying that Freddy walked off.

Lavanya: Chamkili go get changed ... I will wait for you here.

Khushi: Ok!

Khushi went to get changed and Sandy went to call the cab while Lavanya sat there waiting for them. Later all the three left the Mahal in their cab and went to the Hotel. Soon even Arnav left the Mahal in his car and went to his Guest House in Lucknow.

Both Arnav & Khushi ended that day with each other's thoughts.
