Let me summarize the differences between novel and show adaptations.

I have color coded tracks in both which are similar, only the sequence has been changed.

in the novel:
- engagement is announced, both exchange letters, saras visits RN, meets kumud, both confess their love for each other, saras returns back, then splurges for kumud by buying an expensive diamond ring and other gifts (huge money in those days) ...then there is a misunderstanding created between saras & LN on money aspects by gumaan using the gifting angle..becoz of ehich saras decides to leave everything, THEN he writes a rejection letter to kumud and goes off on his own...

in the show:
- engagement is announced, sends rejection letter, saras visits RN, meets kumud, both confess their love for each other, LN & saras misunderstading resolved by kumud, haveli track resolved, then PMS, kumud hysterical, saras goes back to his shell and goes off on his own --> this seems to be the track CVs seen to be taking for seperation.

Problems for CV:
- CVS did not pursue haveli track for possible rift between saras and kumud due to trp possibly.
- CVs had to get kumud to do something substantial for saras to develop feelings for her --> which happened through the LN & saras reconcilation by kumud.
- Both still had to confess and then seperate --> confession done and public proposal

With nothing left to cause a massive rift and seperation, CVs seem to be using the PMS track as a silly reason for causing seperation...
