Jagya's relationship with women and him rushing to help damsels in distress are two different things altogether.
He was not great husband to Anandi and Gauri that is related to his concepts regarding relationships
But him rushing to save people esp girls - he has been that way through out.
He stood up for Gauri when he was just eighteen years old that too against a huge bunch of seniors students who were bullying her in the name of ragging and paid a heavy price for that.
Even when he was big zero in life when he was living in sin with Gauri after dumping his legal wife he rushed to Anandi's rescue out of sheer concern for her.
Even Ganga he tried to rescue her from Rat's clutches.
His failure in marriage letting down his wives was because of his inability to nurture relationships.
His rescuing damsels in distress comes from his beliefs of what is right and what is wrong.
As for him explaining things to Sanchi - He himself was like her when he was her age and he can understand her mind set bette than anyone else.So I don't think there is anything wrong in him giving advice to Sanchi'
In real life there are incidences where some one who has been a lousy student and non performer in school/college ending up as good teachers because they know what went wrong with them as students and so they can understand difficult students much better than teachers who have been good during their student days.Similar thing with Jagya also.
