Consoling brother

Three months post his disappearance from the Sony daily Jassi Jaissi Ko Nahin, the character of Aryan, played by Vinay Jain, is back in the drama. Aryan, who went missing after the Jassi court case, will resurface to console his sister Mallika.

"I will be shown returning from South Africa where I was away for business," says Jain. His entry is slated to be dramatic replete with heavy-duty emotions. "Aryan is apologetic that he has missed Mallika's wedding. As soon as he realises that Mallika is getting a raw deal from Armaan, he vows to give his sister his due," adds Jain.

Mallika finds an emotional shoulder to cry on while Aryan is back to his one-point agenda — to put Armaan in his place.

"Aryan's message to Armaan is simply don't mess with my sister," adds Jain about his character. Aryan will also be shown in a more casual attire as opposed to his corporate suits he was seen in at Gulmohar's meetings previously. "There will be some great bonding between the brother-sister," he adds.

My name is Anthony Gonsalves

Jain, who also features as Sumeet in the Star One youth daily Remix, is looking forward to the daily's birthday party track of Tia (Shweta Gulati) and Anvesha (Priya Wal).

"It is a theme party and I dress up as the character of Anthony Gonsalves from the film Amar Akbar Anthony. It was great fun as I am dressed exactly as Amitabh Bachchan including the hat and coat. My entry coincides with the opening lines of the My name is Anthony Gonsalves track."

He adds that the drama will soon have a lot of chemistry between his character of Sumeet and Sonia (Soniya Kapoor) in the coming weeks.

Big screen happenings

On the film front, Jain will be seen in Feroz Khan's film Gandhi, My Father produced by Anil Kapoor. "I play Gandhi's grandson Kanti. We shot for it in Gujarat," he says. He is also part of an Indo-British project, produced by Vinay Dhumale tentatively called Tilak, in which he plays a young Mohamed Ali Jinnah. "This is something I am really looking forward to," he adds.

Floorboards calling

Jain, who features in Raell Padamsee's play Two 2 Tango, will next be seen in Rahul da Cunha's new play Pg 3, Col 1 which takes a look at, as the title suggests, the Page 3 folks and the party circuit. "I am part of the cast and the play will happen later in the year."

I will be a father in October

There's happiness on Jain's personal front as well. His wife, Chaitna, is pregnant. "The baby is due in October," he informs.
