I think mothers are always obsessed withtheir son. My MIL was one of those mother too. My husband is a late child like when my MIL was almost 48 then she had a son after 4 girls. My husband's 3rd Sister is two yrs older than my mom so I had one real MIL and 4 like MIL to live with. So I know how insecure Ira felt but this is fictional story .

In real life I have seen a mother who was so obsessed with her elder son that she always used to write a letter from unknown name and address to every bride to be saying bad words so they break the Rishta .so this way she won't have to share her son with any one.🤢

I do not think Ira is comparable this way.

She was only being possessive, protective, wanting the best for her kid and shocked at being lied to.

And let's not forget she said what she did initially because she was under impression that Shiv was also not aware of this.

She felt first that all of them were tricked. Later she felt only she and family were tricked.

She's more hurt by the way Shiv responded to her than just Singhs' lies.

And Singhs did do a blunder here so Ira is justified. She is not like other insecure MILs. She was first to support Anandi, even when CM was dead against her.

Ira is a loving mom. I hope she forgives Shiv and DS. These peple are at fault, no doubt about that...but their intentions are not bad and DS is feeling really bad about it. Though Ira has the right to be hurt, i hope she excuses DS's mistake and ends it here. I don't want this to continue as some family drama!
