Brother gets to star as solo lead in Ekta's next film

Tusshar Kapoor had lamented to Mumbai Mirror yesterday about he'll miss his sister on Raksha Bandhan today, since she is out of town. The actor had talked about plans to pick up clothes as Rakhee gift for his sister, when he travels to the US next month.

But it appears the elder sibling, television tycoon Ekta Kapoor has but lined up a far grander gift for Tusshar. While Ekta may not get to tie the rakhee on Tusshar's wrist this year, she has signed him up as the solo-star in a Balaji Production film, to be directed by Satish Kaushik.

Tusshar informs, "It is too premature to talk about the film, but all I can say is that it will start in November. It is an intense love story and Ekta is very kicked about the script written by Anuj Kapoor."
Apparently, talks about making a film with Kaushik had been in the offing for a while. Tusshar adds, "We had been thinking of making a film with Satishji but we were not able to find an apt script. Finally Ekta and Satishji zeroed in on a suitable subject. Ekta loved it and thought that this was the perfect film for me (to be cast in the lead role for)"

The leading lady and the title of the film are yet to be finalised. But Tusshar says he is open to experiment in all film genres, rather than restrict himself to comedy: "I started off with an intense love story in Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. The comedy films just came along. I agree that people have loved me in comedies, but I would like to do all kinds of movies."

Incidentally, Tusshar's debut film (Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai), where he was the solo-star opposite Kareena Kapoor, was directed by Kaushik as well. The film went on to become a huge hit and ever since Tusshar and Kaushik have been keen on working together.
