Tu Hi Ye Mujhko Bata De'May 16
Tu hi ye mujhko bata de
Chahun main ya naa
Apne tu dil ka pata de
Chahun main ya naa
Itna bata doon tujhko
Chaahat pe apni mujhko
Yun tto nahi ikhtiyaar
Phir bhi yeh socha dil ne
Ab jo laga hoon milne
Poochhu tujhe ek baar

Asad and Zoya, two unique individuals, smart, educated, thoughtful, sincere, conscientious but complicated, confused and hopelessly in love with each other have been plagued by one nagging question, "does she/he love me or not?"
Are they kidding me? Do they really need an answer?
Can someone ask them these simple questions-
Asad:
1. Why do you lose your mind when you think you will lose Zoya forever?
2. Why do you not hesitate to risk your life, reputation or principles when you have to rescue Zoya from impossible situations?
3. Why do you lose your defences when she is near you?
4. Why do your eyes wander around in search of her when there is a large gathering with lots of other beautiful women?
5. Why do you smile when she shows signs of jealousy?
6. Why do you never want to see her hurt?
7. Why do her eyes only captivate you when others are also trying to get your attention?
8. Why do you stay mum when confronted by ammi or others (Ayaan today) about your feelings for Zoya?
9. Why is she the only woman you crave to see in a sari?
10. Why did you agree to the nikaah, albeit reluctantly? We all know how stubborn you can be and unless convinced, you would never do anything against your wishes?
11. Why do you dream of Zoya whenever you get a chance?
12. Why do you watch her secretly when she is dancing in her room?
13. When dancing with her, why do you want to hold her hands close to your heart? Why does it feel you don't want to let go of her?
14. Why do you get disappointed when she claims the nikaah is fake?
15. Why did you pester Ayaan for an answer about Zoya's opinion?
16. Why did the FB pictures of your engagement with Zoya bring a smile on your face?
Zoya:
1. Why have you repeatedly risked your life and reputation for a man who has a habit of blaming you for everything?
2. Why do you want to see him happy?
3. Why do you cherish his gift so much that instead of wearing an alternative outfit, you took the pains of converting the torn sari into a kurti?
4. Why do you get jealous when anyone tries to get too close to him- be it his childhood friend, or a gay dance teacher?
5. Why did you not hesitate when he proposed to you in front of the whole world and slipped a ring into your finger?
6. Why do you forgive him so easily?
7. Why do you get disheartened when he claims this nikaah is fake?
8. Why do you dream about him?
9. Why did you want to stay back in India, even though your only family lives in the US?
10. Why do you always seek his approval and comfort from him when you need help?
11. Why do you blush when Ammi and Najma tease you about getting married to him?
12. Why do his words hurt you so much? While you have never cared about what the world thinks of you, but his approval means everything to you.
13. Why do you become lifeless when separated from him?
If these two can answer these questions and introspect, they will stop seeking that elusive confirmation from each other. At this point, do they really need a confession?
NO! I really hope they don't confess because it would make it too simple and too straightforward. These two are complicated and unique, so there is no need to simplify things for them.
They both know the answer; they both know all these traditions before the wedding are as real as they get, they both know they want each other. So, let's not spoil this beautiful and inexplicable relationship with clichd confessions and 'I love you-s'
One of the reasons, they stay on guard is because of their insecurities stemming from the past. I feel till those issues are resolved, confessing at this stage won't be unconditional and whole hearted. Let the confession happen after their abbu issues are finally resolved. Till then "let it be" as Asad often says. Let them enjoy this meetha ehsaas of falling in love and continue to go with the flow.
They are blessed to have people like Dilshaad, Najma, Ayesha Bi, Haallo Khaala, and now (hopefully) Aapi and Ayaan in their lives- people who want them to be together. Even if Asad and Zoya go into the nikaah with big NO-NO's on their lips, all these positive forces will make sure that they end up saying 'qubool hai-qubool hai-qubool hai, ' to each other.
My favorite scenes today:
1. All Asya scenes. Their chemistry is so palpable these days that even when they are far apart in one room, the high voltage currents are enough to burn down the screen.
2. Ayaan-Asad scene- Yes, they look like brothers and emote like brothers. Their scene was so natural and heart warming. They don't deserve to be divided, but need to be together to fight all the battles and wars that are coming their way. Zoya and Humeira need to be their strengths, not their weakness.
3. Loved the scene where Asad secretly admired Zoya's solo dance practice. Man, she is all yours- just stake claim on her. I am sure she would love to practice her dancing skills with you day and night after the nikaah.
Precap:
Welcome Aapi. You might just be the much needed catalyst to transport AsYa from Lucknow to Bhopal!
