Chapter 2 - CANDLE LIGHT PROPOSAL
In Rk's bedroom
Madhu is in the washroom..
Rk is staring at his dad's frame and at that time madhu's phone rings..
Rk picks up...(On the other side of the phone he hears sultan)
he hears sultan saying, "madhu meri baat maano...tum sahi nahi kar rahi uske paas jaakar..yeh thik nahi hai"
He gets angry and cuts the call without letting sultan know that it was him who heard it...
He is about to walk out of the room when his eye falls on the knife with which madhu attempted to cut her wrist to gain his trust...
Then he remembered how madhu stood by him when padmini cut off with madhu...
And all that sultan spoke came back to him...he kept repeating sultan's words in his mind...
He walked a little ahead n then switches off all the light in the room...
(meanwhile madhu walks out of the washroom n is shocked to see the darkness...)
Madhu: light kaise chali gayi...? (she whispers)
Madhu walks a little ahead to try and reach her phone, while carefully placing her feet...she's scared
And suddenly she is numb looking at the sight in front of her...
Rk was in front of her...knelt on one knee...and holding a candle towards her...
Just the light from one candle lit their faces. Both stared intensely at each other.
Rk: iss roshni se thodi roshni chura kar
Apni aankhon me bhar lo
Dekho mujhe aur apna pyaar dekar
Mere dil ke andhere ko duur kar do
Madhu mujhse shaadi karlo..
Chalo madhu hum 7 phere lekar saari rasamo ke saath shaadi kar lete hai..
Madhu: tum mujhse shaadi kyu karna chahte ho...main yahin hoon...
Rk: kyunki biwi maine jo adhura choda tha uss galti ko main ab sudhaarna chahta hoon...
Madhu: hato rk...main tumse pyaar nahi karti...tumne hi kaha...baar baar kaha...
Rk : biwi phir tum yahaan kyun ho?
Madhu : kyunki...(rk cuts her in the middle)
Rk: MADHU MAIN JAANTA HOON TUM MUJHSE UTNA HI PYAAR KARTI HO JITNA MAIN TUMSE PHIR YEH SHAADI KYU...
(rk had just realised what he had blurted out)
Madhu is staring at him in shock...
Madhu: kya kaha tumne rk?
Rk: biwi wo...main...HAAN KARTA HOON MAIN TUMSE PYAAR (yelling)
Madhu tumne mujhe maaf kiya? Madhu tum mujhe chodke nahi jaaogi naa?
Madhu kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi?
Madhu: kyaa tum sab kuch chodkar chal sakte ho mere saath?
Rk : madhu?
Madhu: bolo na rk...chal sakte ho?
Rk: nahi...nahi kho sakta tumhe...madhu iss baar koi dhoka nahi,koi chalawa nahi...tumhe paane ke liye ab kuch bhi chod sakta hoon...
Madhu : rk main iss shaadi mein kisiko bhi nahi bulana chahti...maa toh nahi maanegi...aur sab chodkar jaana hai toh tum apni maa ko bhi naa bulaao toh accha rahega...
Rk: biwi yeh shaadi sirf humaare liye hai...jo uss waqt adhuraa raha usse pura karna hai...phir chahe...___ madhu...agar main tumhaari jagah hota toh yeh kabhi nahi...
Rk places the candle on a table and gets up n hugs madhu...madhu hesitantly hugs back...(rk:biwi main lights on karta hoon)
Then hiding his eyes in confusion, embarrassment n frustration he walks to switch on the lights...n walks towards the door
Rk: biwi khanaa aa chukka hai...
(he says...looking at the tray of food lying outside their door)
N he walks out of the room..
Madhu burst out in tears...all that she was holding onto since so long...she laid down on the bed..put on the blanket and went off to sleep...

Next day morning
Rk: madhu mujhe vishwaas nahi ho raha hai ki 1 hafte mein humaari shaadi hai
(And rk pulls madhu close by holding on to her waist...
Rk thinking about last night...)
