Geet's cheeks puffed as she saw maan and sameera all the time busy with some official discussion. Due to maan's sickness some work has piled up along with some bidding coming up too where the bank want to apply, so an additional work was due now on him, and since he had less time, sameera was helping him.
She was so much irritated with all this, firstly she was so excited to meet him and he cared a damn. Secondly, she had woken up so early today so that she could catch him before he goes for his office, but here see, he isn't even looking at me. What to do babaji????
That's when she heard maan's cell vibrating. It was an unknown number so she transferred the phone to him. He looked at the number and got tensed. He looked at sameera who was sitting next to him and was helping him in the figures and then at geet who was waiting for him to receive the call.
Sighing, he excused himself to the balcony for some privacy but well geet went too following him, to know the reason for his tension. He was unknown that geet was standing behind him, and picked up the phone.
Congratulation bte, happy anniversary. May god fulfill your live with all the happiness in the world and give you and geet a trustful and strong relation till the last breath, savitri blessed maan as he picked up the phone.
"thankyou maa" maan smiled hearing the compassionate voice of his mother. "geet ko phone do maan" savitri said after talking with his son for a while. "ahh' wo umm" maan hesitated trying to find some reason by which he could divert savitri, but this time she was stubborn too.
"maan dare you say that you are in office on your very first anniversary leaving your wife at home all alone. Come on this wasn't expected from my son, I had thought that you will be a romeo before your marriage but now you aren't even being a nice husband forget being a romeo"
"maa aap bhi" maan said rolling his eyes at the words of his mother.
"what maa ha, I don't know anything. Either you give me her number now or am complaining about your deed to your grandma, then she will chide you for your behavior toward your wife"
He couldn't but smile at his mother's warning, but his smile faded the very moment he saw geet standing there with her hands folded on her chest, her eyes glaring him. Now what did I do???, he thought.
With long strides, she reached him and took the phone from him and looked at him with angry eyes, then she heard her mother in law's chiding toward maan and chuckled, making savitri stop her non-stop batter and realize she was actually scolding her daughter in law.
"geet bte, how are you??? And first of all happy anniversary bte. Sada suhagan raho and khush rho" she blessed her with whole her heart, praying for the happy future of her children. "thankyou maa" she said as she looked at maan with some meaningful eyes making him look away from her.
"so sahaab jade ghar pe hi hai, aur mujhe ched rhe the" savitri complained, but then laughed at the antics of her son. "ji maa. And dadi kaisi hai, unki tabiyat ab" geet asked hesitated. "she is better now, but still her BP shoot up sometimes, doctors are hoping that she will be in good help in few months now. Bte maa wishes to see you, kafi aas hai unhe tum dono ko saath dekhne ki. I know maan is quiet busy in his work, but still family is important too. It would be nice if you guys take out a week's time and visit us. Mujhse mile hue bhi ek saal ho gya ab" savitri's voice weakened at the end as she missed her family. after all staying away from your family isn't that easy.
Geet felt bad too as somewhere she is the reason for the family's separation too, though his visit was preplanned but he was supposed to go back in holidays and festival time, but he hadn't because of her, and she was guilty because of that.
"I am sorry maa that we hadn't visited you once after shifting here. I will talk to him and we will plan something soon pakka" geet said as she looked at him with pleading eyes, but he just looked away and went back in the room.
Savitri aws way too excited to talk with geet after a whole year, and the duo kept going on for a whole hour probably. They would have kept going on if the signal hadn't weakened in the village. Geet somewhere felt her mother in savitri now. She remembered her initial days in delhi, how savitri had sometime taken maan's side in their quarrel and she used to think that she just loves maan and not her. But then now thrice she had talked with savitri and every time she had just showered her boundless love on her, surely she loves her, and that was more than she could wish. But somewhere she knew that love wasn't for geet, but for maan's wife and would fade away the day she will knew the truth of our relationship.
Sighing she turned back to go in room only to see maan tensed, his wrinkled forehead was enough for her to know his mental condition. She just went to him and gave him his phone, he was calmed after seeing she is ok after the conversation, probably more happier precisely. But then he was getting confused with her behavior now, she is a mystery to him, her mood swings even more dangerous than a pregnant woman. Only god could understand what's going in her heart and mind, or even god failed in it too???
Knowing he isn't going to talk to her, she went back in her room, to see in what condition it was. She was amazed to see it the same way it was seven months back. Not a single thing was moved an inch even, her clothes, accessories, even her dressing table was like it used to be. She sat back on the bed holding the pillow close to her chest as she thought about the girls in his life.
Task's to do: she took a notepad and started scribbing the things which she had to do anyhow.
Sighing she again looked at her tasks to do as she wondered how she will accomplish them!!!
He went back in his work when his eyes fell on fresh blossomed rose flowers. He went over to them and touched the soft petal with his finger tip. He caressed the soft texture as he wondered who bought them and then looking back at sam he asked, "sam did you bring these flowers??? They are really beautiful"
"umm no maan, geet brought them in morning and yeah they are really beautiful. Will you please give me one" sam asked with a puppy face. Maan looked back at the flowers and caressed them more tenderly now with his knuckles. She brought them for me, but then why??? Why is she here in the first place itself, that too today, the day she despise the most??? And then her changed behavior is just puzzling me!!! Why she always does that to me, first make me feel important in her life and then all of a sudde show me my real place i.e. nothing.
He was busy feeling them when he again heard sam's voice, "comeon don't be selfish. She had given you a vase full of them and you can't lend me one, you miser!!!" "stop overreacting idiot!!!" he said as he picked a flower which was still not bloomed, its petal just opened up a little in side and give it to her. "now happy, lets go back to work" he said his voice full of sarcasm. "dog" sam said under her breath as she smelled the mild fragrance of it and smiled.
"I heard that" he said giving her glare which she skillfully ignored. "good for you" sam retorted as she again went back to her work.
It was around noon when geet came back to room and her feet froze as she saw sam holding the flower which she had brought. First thing she thought was did he gave her a red rose??? Her insides oiled with the very thought, as a jealous teenager took over her mind.
Sam saw geet first standing near the door and said, "hey geet come inside why are you standing there" yeah yeah welcoming me in my own house great now!!! Geet thought as she went inside but her eyes were fixed on the red rose that was still in sameera's hand. Kash that rose has thorns and it pricks her hands!!!
"waise nice flowers geet, really fresh and beautiful. From where you bought them" "I had picked them myself from garden" geet answered making a face which sam doesn't saw as she was looking at that beautiful rose.
"oh great then, I should thank maan for the first time forgiving me this flower" sam was being sweet but geet now wanted to kill her for that, and probably add the sixth task in her list, to throw this sameera out of my house, huh!!!
And the thought that he really gave her a flower wasn't really good too. "oh so maan gave you flower, precisely red rose" geet said as she looked at maan who too looked back at her for the first time now as he felt the anger in her voice. But why???
He raised his eyebrow in question, but she returned him a glare and then looked at the rose with which sameera was playing in her finger. He shrugged his shoulder in what!!! But she just twisted her mouth and with a huff, she moved toward vase as she took out the flowers from it.
"geet where are you taking them" maan asked confused, but she gave him an another glare and said, "in my room as I am possessive for my loveable things and loveable ones too" her words doubled meaning as she looked at maan and then at sameera.
She was taking out the flowers harshly from the vase; her eyes were on him who was too holding her eyes in a lock, when unknowingly some thorns pricked her hand badly, drawing out blood from her veins. She winced in pain as few bloods dropped off her hand. Maan immediately got shocked as he immediately ran to her and taking her hand in his, he carefully tried to hold her hand, which she kept shooing off as tears flew out in pain.
Sameera too got worried as she ran to geet too, but then maan just didn't let her touch even geet, as he carefully held her hand, this time a little firmly yet with gentle hold and took out the thorns from her skin. The blood fell on floor, as some smeared his fingers too as he worriedly looked at her hand, around 4-5 thorns had pricked her palm and her blood was coming out unstoppable.
"sam get first aid box, its in the shelf in bathroom" he shouted as he made geet sat on the bed. "maan its paining lot" she cried as the pain was too much. God why are you against me today, sab kuch galat ho rha hai, she cursed. "geet it would be ok, shh don't cry" he said as he cupped her left cheek with his palm that was smeared with her blood.
He wiped off her tears, as he himself was pained to see her tears, his finger caressing her forehead to sooth the lines of pain there, unknowingly applying her blood on the forehead. Sam immediately came back with the box and handed him cotton with dettol.
He immediately dabbed it on the wound to stop the blood, making her wince with the sting. He saw her wrinkled face as she muted her cry in front of sam, but yet the wincing hiss was enough for him to know that she is still pained.
He bent down as he blew over everywhere after dabbing cotton over the blood clearing it off, and then bandaging her hand. After it was done, he took her in his arm, as she hugged him tightly, keeping her head on his chest as he assured her pain would go away soon.
