Recap : Alaka offers a Puja flower to Shan. Meera tells Shan that it's a positive sign. Ammaji tells Shan and others that after many years, the Nyaya Panchayat will once again be held in the Bharadwaj House. The head priest of the temple, Cahubey Maharaj, tells his followers that he will go to the Bharadwaj House during the ongoing session of the Nyaya Panchayat and question Rajeshwari ji (Ammaji) about the happenings in her own house.
Today's episode : the Kulpurohit of the Bharadwaj House lights the Nyaya lamp and blows the conch shell to mark the beginning of the Panchayat. A no. of locales and all family members have assembled to participate and watch proceedings of the Panchayat. Yash and Shan have gone to the ghats with another Brahmin to do aarti on the banks of the Ganges and then float another part of the Nyaya lamp in the water.
The Nyaya Panchayat starts and everybody is pleased with the decisions that Ammaji is taking. At that moment, the other head priest comes to the Bharadwaj House along with his followers. He is Chaubey Maharaj, who since long had a bone of contention with the Bharadwaj family and left no stones unturned to find their faults (Ira tells this to Gauri). Before his arrival, Ammaji had considered a case of a locale according to whom their widowed daughter-in-law had an illegal relationship with another man. Ammaji extols to the widow the cultural values of the her white dress and metes out punishment that she will have to walk barefoot for 10 kms and then take 101 dips in a local pond.
Now Chaubey Maharaj points out that Nyaya is being imparted by someone who is not ready to see the faults of her own family members and that she is trying to impart justice based on duality. He asks the people to leave the Panchayat. As they are about to leave, Ammaji asks Chaubey Maharaj to wait and said that since she had promised on the holy flames of the Nyaya Deepak that she will answer all his questions, she will definitely do so and asks him to tell everybody about the crime committed.
Chaubey Maharaj tells everyone that the perpetrator of the crime is none other than Alakananda and that he had seen her with another man in the holy premises of a temple, in an amorous state. Everybody is shocked and the tulsi mala falls from Ammaji's hands. Chaubey Maharaj further tells her that the man involved is none other than her own son, Shantanu. Ammaji is shell-shocked.
But after a while, she calls Alaka in front of her, Meera tries to stop her but eventually Alaka comes and stands in front of her. On the other side, Yash and Shantanu have reached the banks of the river when suddenly a dust storm starts.
