Fine, I admit it. I have a problem. I am addicted to a show that goes against every fiber of my being. I absolutely despise RK and I think Madhu is selling her personhood in the race to sound righteous. Radha's decision making power is exclusively in the hands of her limbic system whilst the more "evolved" brain structures are lacking. How you ask? Well, unless you have been living under a rock, you should be familiar with her outrageous demand of grandkids and hurling of baseless accusations against Madhu.
Deepali reminds of the typical one dimensional villain who ulitmately fails in her Doofensmirch-esque plans. I like Geoffery (Game of Thrones) better than I do Deepali and that says something. Sikki tries to be funny but I have never laughed at any of his jokes. Painting your wife's nails only makes you hen pecked if you are in the 19th century (seriously, the comedic team in MB needs a smack on the head). Bittuji swings like a Frisbee. Trishna has shown two extreme of a character but still sounds relatively sane in the zoo like environment. Padmini is by far my favourite on screen. She has the right amount love, guilt, anger, understanding, etc. that makes a character worth watching.
Sultan is unnecessary in my opinion. He is boring and unreasonable. I don't find his arguments/dialogues/ character particularly appealing and I simply skip the scenes when he is on. The same goes for his employee and son. Though I think one should be more careful when criticizing a child. If a little kid happens to read your comment, they are not likely to take it as constructive criticism and I sincerely hope the kid does not come on to this forum.
RK, that is whom you came here to read about anyways. Am I right or am I right? I think he is easy on the eyes: the number one factor that pulls me in right after a decent storyline. I watched from the wedding plot onwards and I didn't expect RK to "change" but atleast mellow down. I am rather disappointed with the level of psychosis shown. There comes a point when arrogance is no longer acceptable; RK has crossed that limit a long time ago. He is beyond the point of redemption. Here I would like to bring up Don Draper (Mad Men) a sexist, racist, stuck up, obnoxious, insert all bad adjectives in the dictionary pig. But, I still appreciate him and watch the show because the story has made it clear that he is NOT going to change and his actions are not GOOD. I feel as though that distinction is lacking in RK. When he dances to these soft romantic numbers, such an atmosphere is created that we ought to see his "pain, love" and other non-existent emotions (I cannot read eyes so don't give me that ridiculous argument). Essentially, what I am saying is, I will accept RK with open arms if his image is not glorified. If the writers stop making his character look redeemable, I might fall in love with him again.
As far as the jodi goes, I think Rishabh and Madhu belong together and if I were writing the story, I would end the show on a note where you can clearly see Rishabh is flawed and that Madhu is in the wrong for staying. It is very easy to say the girl should run but that is often not what happens in real life and such an ending would be a perfect descriptor. One of the people I follow/ stalk on the internet is a crazy academic but watches "Real Housewives" so, WTH I will continue watching MB without shame. Totally degrading show that I somehow enjoy FTW!
