Replacing Sushant was a challenge: Hiten Tejwani

A familiar face on TV, actor Hiten tejwani, who is currently enjoying his fatherhood status feels that reality shows help actors with drooping careers. He says, "See, in our industry the perception is if you're not seen, you don't exist." Adding to that he said that for actors who are riding low on career, reality shows are an opportunity to make their presence felt. "If nothing else, it also is a source of income besides instant recognition. Everybody needs work, and doing one reality show can open doors for several other opportunities."

Having participated in a reality show himself he feels that the outlook of people towards actors changes. "And in our industry if you're not known, survival becomes a huge task."

Basking in the glory of his work, Hiten is up for whatever role that excites him. One of the very few actors who don't shy away from playing older characters, Hiten feels that now the character he plays are known by his name. "Older or younger, I'm an actor. And as actors we must understand that as a story progresses, generation leaps happen, the character has to grow."

Getting all candid, Hiten confesses that replacing Sushant Singh Rajput in Pavitra Rishta at the point when the serial's TRPs were very high was a huge challenge. "I tried my style. I have kept the basic element of this character of Manav in the serial, intact. I didn't temper with it. Rest, all of it was my take on the character. And luckily it worked."
