Sometimes I feel it is the ones who do not get saved early who actually get better exposure to the world of cooking through the different challenges that are thrown at them. Yes, the ones who are saved early in a week have an easy and stress-free time, but aren't they actually the losers in terms of experience?

So is being saved earlier in a week a boon or a bane for someone who is really interested in cooking?

As this is a competition ,becoming safe first time is definitely boon. If they come in danger zone ,they are working under real pressure and tension and above all luck factor, that they may not be in a position to learn anythg or get experience. if this is just a cooking prgmme ,getting experience also plays a role. This is my POV.😊

Exactly!! Being safe early is definitely a plus point as far as the competition is concerned. But this is just a short-term benefit. It seems it would be disadvantageous in the long-run... because the contestants are indeed missing out on a lot of the pressure challenges that can further improve their skills, which can probably be of use to them in the upcoming challenges or even later in their future careers, etc...

As far as competition is concerned being saved early is definately a boon but they will lose the experience of cooking under pressure and facing challenges which will be a loss 4 them as far as experience is concerned. For a person genuinely interested in cooking it is the challenges and experiences that makes 1 to excel and succeed no matter what the circumstances that they may have 2 face and the victory they acquire will be the most satisfying 4 them.

It is a short term gain, but will not help in the long run even from the competition perspective... As they get closer to the finals, no one will remain safe anymore and hence the lesser experience of the pressure test will actually prove to be a disadvantage at the end...

It is like playing well in the early stages of league IPL, taking it easy once you have already qualified for the play-offs.. and then suddenly coming under pressure and losing out in the play-offs!
In the longer run, for people who want to make a career in cooking - participating in as many rounds as possible is definitely going to help them gain more experience

As far as the competition is concerned, it is boon to be safe in the beginning. They have stress-free time, thus can save their energy for later tasks.
Competing in pressure tests and later challenges will make you experienced for a tougher fights, only if you can make it. Experiences does make you tougher, but I don't think change will be that significant.

This yr's format is definitely wierd. A most unbalanced competition.

There're huge tasks to be complete in a limited time.

Like the dhaba task where they had just 2 hrs to make a huge amt of food - even with a team it was tough. (That probably made the juhu stall task easier.)

Now the gadbad falooda is all of 45 kgs to be made in 2 hrs! Feels more like Doyal-Devyani are battling for an entry into the Guiness bk of World Records!

I feel it is important to be safe if its a competition ... And after all everyone is here to win na ! 😆
@pressure: I think everyone works under pressure from the beginning only - to save themselves from danger zone ! So if ripu yasmeen or anyone is saved in first attempt - they have worked one stage of pressure to ensure their safety .! 😎
And I feel just cooking physically is not the only way to learn ... They are always upstairs looking over and observing ?! So that too is one form if learning ! 😊
And well see for eg: we would say sachin, jehan , etc learned more due to their elimination tasks , but then all the safe ones equalled them naa as they are in he show for more time and they too had new challenges in the weeks they weren't there ! Simple ! 😉
Bottom line : everyone goes through pressure , just the level varies !

True, valid point..

But there are two sides to it..

1. If you are not saved, means you are good at experimenting with flavours - pro, also you get to witness the pressure tests.. so you 'know' of possible cookery related stuff learning

2. If not saved- you are thrown into pressure situation

The thing is coming out of a pressure test is more of a personality game...you don't need practice for it..
