Asad has a very valid point. Zoe has a hidden desirable point. Asad knows that him and Zoe are on threshold of feelings - there is physical and emotional tension between them - they love each-other. But... they have not PROCESSED their feelings, forget accepting them. They cannot get married for the sake of getting married because marriage means building a life together nurtured with love, faith and understanding. You cannot make it a joke, a betting game, a filmy declaration. That is why he keeps telling Zoe that all this is not some kinda humorous charade - Nikaah means a lifetime commitment from a man to a woman and vice versa. You and i don't accept that we love each-other , you and i need to arrive on a meeting ground about our sentiments and where we stand. Ek zid ke peecche kaise Nikaah kar lenge? Feelings are fundamental but they demand processing , acceptance and honour. Valid point.
Zoe is once again finding refuge behind her poetry, her lies and her tu tu- main main. Till yesterday, she had to face the reluctant rejection from Asad, his non-acceptance that he loves her , the return of the precious engagement ring and possible heartbreak with her " Kya main ittni galat hoon, Mr.Khan?" But instead of dealing with the plethora of sentiments and confronting herself and Asad , she chooses to live in the humour bubble of pizza, coke, sher arz kiyaa hai and all that jazz. She doesn't want to wake up and face the reality that its time to confront her feelings - not to live in conscious ignorance and go on with a jhoothi sagaai, a jhootha Nikaah. And what is coming up next? A whole jhoothi life with Asad? This is the reason she looks at her own feet when Asad says - Jhooth ke pairr nahiin hote, Miss.Faaruqui."...Neither does she want to leave Asad's embrace , nor does she want to confront her heart - the middle path is staying funny, taking everything in good humour and even if it means going in for a Jhootha Nikaah, just be with Asad and in his shelter. Valid soul-need.
But its not that Zoe does not feel the injury and the devastation behind Asad's firm stance- Main ye Nikaah hargiz nahhin karoonga and am gonna stay firm on that. Asad said this twice today and Zoe kept looking at his face with angst-ridden pained eyes. Yes, Zoe wants to marry Asad as much as he wants to marry her. But while Asad would want it the right way , with feelings processed and accepted , Zoe just wants acceptance into his intimate fold , without having to deal with home truths that could rake up her abandonment issues. Everytime, Asad said it today that he is not going to marry Zoe, she looked as though he was going to abandon her.
The First Lady of the Lion Club also has a valid point. She is Asad's mother and she is Zoe's foster mother. She has been observing them since day1, she has seen the relationship evolve step-by-step , she has seen them fall in love. But she also knows that they both are dense , egoistic , complicated and grappling with their emotions. If she was to leave it to them, Asad and Zoe would be attending the marriage of Ayaan and Humeira's kids as a bachelor and as a spinster. Sometimes, you have to take a decision for someone when that person , inspite of being given a million chances seems incapable of taking a decision. If Dilshad had the slightest doubt that AsYa do not love each-other, she would have never carried out this flawless Madhuri Dixit act. She knows they are thick in the head and this manipulation of hers is the curve of destiny that will lead them to each-other.
The engagement scene, though horribly edited and totally misplaced ( Iccha Kohli, kya kar rahee ho? Edit table par so gayee thi kya or do you have an explanation for this massive jerk and jump tomorrow?) - the scene had its message and essence. Zoe didn't ask Asad a question - Soch lijiye, Mr.Khan . Ye sagaai naqli nahiin hai. She actually conveyed to him that if this ring sits on her finger now, its real for her , just like it was the last time, no matter how much she laughs it off on pizza slices , coke cans and giving character certificates to Asad. You cannot say what Asad was thinking - yes, his sentiments and his love are real but he still has the 'Ammie ke liye kiyaa hai' trumpcard. Still, everything in that moment was real and very emotional for Zoe, no matter how hard she tries not to grapple with them.
The Sagaai scene seemed edited though. It looked too romantic in the segments , looking at AsYa's situation , so it looks more closer to their current stage now. BTW, are we supposed to take Karan's wedding ring as Zoe's ring on him? Seems so as Zoe never get to ringo-fy him. Fit that into the imagery of your head. When the camera rolls now, its Zoe's ring on him.😆
For the rest of it, AsYa were hilarious and totally hubby-wifey - the nudging , the tu tu - main main, the taane-maaro-session and yet the permanent fixation with each-other. Especially, the pizza slice match and Asad's copycat act of Zoe - Am i mad?
BTW, i think Razia was very cute today.😆... and why is Humeira so beautiful? Fragile little dove. But Badee Bi ne issko bhi mohraa banaa liyaa. Ye sahee nahiin hai Badee Bi.Don't use Humzie even if your war is for the good.😳
