As Alaka runs away from Shan's room, Ira watches her go. She starts thinking of a no. of possibilities as to why Alaka had gone to Shan's room so late at night. Ira goes back to her room and is pacing from one end of the room to another, thinking about how to unravel this mystery. Her husband, who was sitting on the bed reading a book, asked her what the matter was. She tells him that she is surprised to find Alaka coming out of Shan's room so late at night. Her hubby tells her not to think of anything wrong; Alaka could have gone to Shan's room for some work or something. Ira tells him that that was not the case and pointed out how Shan Bhaiyya had taken Alaka's name during the play, how he had stood up for Alaka during Sonu's vidaai and so on and forth. Hubby dear tries to pacify her but Ira rushes off to tell Suli about the latest proceedings. 😡
Suli is sitting in the hall while Yash is speaking over the phone. He tells the caller that nothing can happen unless and until both parties extend their hands and the results will be there for all to see (very rhetorical, I found). After the call is over, Suli complains to Yash that after becoming a politician, he thinks of the well-doing of the masses only but if he had spent some time thinking for the welfare of his family, so many things wouldn't have gone wrong. Yash asks her what has happened to which Suli tells him that Ira had seen Alaka coming out of Shan's room pretty late at night. Yash silences Suli and asks her to think properly before uttering any syllables. (This guy is a really good guy, with progressive ideologies but he is held back by the trappings of custom, tradition and Ammaji). Suli goes to the defence immediately and tells Yash that she had in fact scolded Ira and told her that Alaka might have gone to Shan's room due to some work. She further hoped that such words would not reach Ammaji as she would be shocked.
But at that moment, Ammaji comes to the hall and overhears everything. She scolds Suli for trying to hide such an important incident from her, which should be taken care of immediately, She then goes to Alaka's room who was preparing her bed. Ammaji asks Alaka point blank why she had gone to Shan's room late at night. Alaka is speechless. Ammaji again asks her whether Alaka had forgotten the significance of the whiteness of her attire and had decided that the blackness of the night would mar the purity of her white dress and empty life? Alaka stands looking down at the ground and doesn't reply to Ammaji. At that moment, Shan comes to Alaka's room and finds Ammaji scolding Alaka. He quickly steps in and tells Alaka that he was having severe headache and had asked for medicine from Alaka. She had gone to his room to give the medicine and he had come to return the remaining medicines to her. Ha hands over a medicine strip to Alaka. Ammaji looks convinced enough and leaves them in the room.😭😭
After Ammaji leaves, Shan and Alaka stare at each other with tear-filled eyes, Alaka's eyes filled with gratitude and Shan's eyes filled with despair and hopelessness. Meera watches the two of them from behind the door. After a while Alaka tries to say something to Shan but he asks her not to say thank you to him. He then goes away.😳😭
Meera goes to her Naani (AM) and is all excited. She narrates the entire happening to Naani who is also very pleased. They both think that Alaka and Shan staring at each other, trying to reconnect, was probably the best thing to have happened. But Naani tells Meera that although Shan had more or less confessed his still existing feelings for Alaka, it will not be a cake walk in case of Alaka. So the two of them hatch a plan to bring out Alaka's internal feelings. 😉
Next morning, Ammaji is sitting in the jhoola in the hall while Ira and Suli are hovering around her. Ammaji asks Ira to take good care of her brother who had returned to their house after such a long time. At that moment, Shlok comes to them and hands over a card to Ammaji saying that it was an invitation from Meera. He also hands over cards to other members of the House also. Gauri doesn't want to attend the programme but Shlok tells her that Abhi will also be present there. At the mentioned time, everybody has assembled in the hall and Abhi is playing a lovely strain of the old Hindi song 'Jaha bhi jaati hoon, peechey peechey chale aatey ho, yeh to batao ke tum mere kaun ho…'. 😳😳😳
Both Shan and Alaka hear the guitar strains and come out of their rooms to find everybody assembled in the Hall. Meera tells everybody that she had called them there to tell a fairy tale to them, about a Prince and Princess, who fell in love with each other, who vowed to stay with each other in life and death, and who are now separated due to the trials and tribulations of the society. Both Shan and Alaka realize that Meera is talking about them. Alaka tries to go away but Naani (Alaka's Masi) stops her from doing so. Meera further tells the assembly that although these two lovers could not unite, they had always thought that once their daughter is born, she will also learn to sing the same song - 'Jaha bhi jaati hoon, peechey peechey chale aatey ho, yeh to batao ke tum mere kaun ho…'. And that today she would sing that song to fulfill the lovers wishes. 😳
Meera and Abhi now dress up as puppets in colourful dresses and play acts the song. Shan and Alaka are both in tears as they remember their past, happy days. Alaka again tries to go away but Masi stops her. She asks Alaka to start thinking with her heart, her future is in front of her and that she still has a life to lead. Alaka replies in the negative and tells her that Alaka is dead and runs away to her room.😭
Alaka is sitting on the floor, crying her heart out. Meera comes inside the room and goes ans sits in front of her Mother. She places a hand on her Mother's hand to pacify her and tells her that its time that she realizes too that her heart beats for Shan. Alaka removes her hand from below Meera's hand and stands up. Meera also stands up and tries to implore her Mother to accept Shan's marriage proposal and fill her life with colours once again. Meera meets with a resounding slap from her Mother.
All artists have excelled in their performances today, esp. Shan, Alaka, Naani, Meera and Ammaji. But Abhi needs to lose his wooden self fast. Shlok is cute as usual. The story is moving at a very good pace and here's hoping that the tempo is maintained throughout. 👏👏👏
Cheers!!!
